From High Brooms station via FP at Old Forge Farm which is festooned with keep to FP (and similar) signs and is also untidy. But the woods are interesting and are where I saw 2 roe deer | trimarc2 | 29/04/2022 |
Approached from slip road to NW, able to drive to barrier, then cycle way to track up to mast. After short distance entered field and went to both possible HPs. Deer in field at dusk. | PeterD | 28/10/2021 |
Tonbridge - Bidborough Hill - Castle Hill - Tonbridge. | Mark Jackson | 22/07/2021 |
Parked on service road just N of Castle Hill Farm. Track to masts and beyond, then into field. Visited both suggested highpoints. | PGCE | 26/02/2021 |
There is an excellently functional cycle path that runs parallel to the dual carriageway. A track leads off this to reach the masts. Easy walk into summit pasture from there. Far easier than expected although the route is a bit clinical. | Campbell Singer | 17/10/2020 |
A diversion off the Tunbridge Wells Circular | PhilipChaston | 17/07/2020 |
Travelling North up the dual carriageway, found way into the West side service road at the 43 Northing. Drove up past Castle Hill Farm to locked gate roughly level with corner of wood. Walked on 200 yards to join old foret road up to the Comms Towers. In another 150 yards the BW fence suddenly stops leading easilly into the fort field and hp. | GordonAdshead | 31/08/2019 |
Tonbridge to High Brooms. Cw circuit of hill from Old Forge Farm, mainly using ROWs and Walkers Welcome woodland. | Smudge | 18/01/2019 |
Parked at the small turning off the interchange (TQ 5966 4477). RoW down to TQ 5993 4423, then made it up as I went along, some good forest tracks became apparent closer to the hill top. HP in open pasture. | jonglew | 08/11/2018 |
Doesn't appear to be accessible from A21. From Southborough to west. | ngthack | 16/03/2018 |
Pasture not very hillfort-like, 2 likely HPs visited. From NE, driving NW it's easy to park at start of forest track. Could be difficult travelling SE-bound while road widening ongoing. Access may be different once dualling complete. | RHW | 22/02/2015 |
Parked off the nasty A21 with constant traffic. Track to transmitters and easily out of woods to grassy top. The last hour of daylight (in Feb) after a meeting in Tonbridge and a confusing drive to get on the right road. The first of 13 planned ticks, taking the long way home. The rest to be in darkness under a full moon with temps of minus 2 degrees. | Chris Pearson | 05/02/2015 |
Parked in space at end of footpath to E. Dangerous getting out of the car as it is so narrow and busy. Summit probably at edge of woods and field. Difficult to tell. Had a good wander around. | destaylor | 10/03/2014 |
