First of three off the busy, fast road along the downland ridge. We could have parked at a closer lay-by. Bridleway S from SZ 58548692 gave access to summit field at broken down, saggy bbw fence. With Pete.pwheeler11/06/2023

Took the footpath from the industrial estate in Ventnor up to and around the St Boniface radar station security fence and trig point, then onto Shanklin Down trig before dropping down and heading north to Alverstone. Up onto Brading Down and across to Brading and the Yar River Trail to the (closed) NT windmill, before finishing on the beach by the Duver. Very hot day but good views all round.
