Anti-clockwise horseshoe with John From Talla Farm - up Erie Hill, Garelet Dod, Cape Law, down to the aptly named Rotten Bottom (deep sections of bog), then up to Firthhope Rig and up to White Coomb's summit. Back to Firthhope Rig, around to Lochcraig Head and tapped the cairn (realised later that's not the summit so need to go back for that Donald). Then headed back East then North to Molls Cleuch Dod (checked the summit location this time), then headed over Carlavin Hill and descended (*very* steeply) NE down to Games Hope Burn and followed the track back out to the car. 21km, 1300m of ascent - 6h 47min including a lunch stop near Lochcraig Head. Sunny but freezing winds up top. | mproudfoot | 14/10/2023 |

Parking at the gate near Talla Linfoots, followed the stream up to the Gameshope Loch and then a faint trail to the summit. 1/7. | JAdair97 | 04/02/2023 |
Tough 19 mile circuit of Gameshope with White Coomb, Carrefran Gans, Lochcraig Head and Nickies Knowe added on. Wet first few hours, cleared up nicely | Gary Heath | 14/10/2022 |

From Fruid Reservoir out to Din Law then Cape Law and on to Saddle Yoke and its arete. Returned by Hartfell Rig to Hart Fell then followed fence and wall back to Fruid and back to reservoir car park. | SS | 01/09/2022 |
I did the six donalds on the west side of the Gameshope valley.

Parked at Talla Linnfoots farm and straight up Garelet Hill, then Laird's Cleuch Rig and south to Erie Hill then Garelet Dod. Lay down here for a bit to rest due to the heat. Followed the fenceline south up to Din Law, then Cape Law.

From there was a long walk back along the Gameshope Burn, visited the bothy on the way out too. Too sunny all day, 6:55hrs all in.

112 out of 141 now complete.... | chillyman8 | 13/08/2022 |
From Talla Linfoots for a round of Garelet Hill, Laird's Cleuch Rig, Erie Hill,	Garelet Dod, Din Law and Cape Law. | rhalstead | 16/06/2022 |
Followed fence from Din Law. Very boggy in the middle ground near The Spout. Followed the fence down into the appropriately-named Rotten Bottom, where we sheltered from the fierce wind by a low wall for a quick sandwich. Up to Firthhope Rig. With Ian. | Dangerous Dave | 23/10/2021 |
From Din Law | KeithByTheC | 02/08/2021 |
A clockwise round of 11 summits from Nickies Knowe to Garelet Hill. Parking just E of the bridge on the Talla-Megget road.
From Great Hill, on more or less a bee-line, via the sheepfolds. Onwards following the fence to Din Law. | Minto | 18/07/2021 |
Up Gameshope valley from Talla Teservoir, then back along seven tops to the West. Easily room for around six cars at Talla Linnfoots. Good path up as far as bothy, more vague beyond there. Very unpleasant struggle through rough ground on north slope of Cape Law. But fine from there, following wall lines back over Cape Law, Din Law, Ellers Cleuch Rig, Garelet Dod, Erie Hill, Lairds Cleuch Rig, and Garelet Hill. Deer fencing runs from Common Law north to Talla, but gates are provided. Failed to find proper path for descent from Garelet. Great views, and didn’t see a soul all day. | Toby-and-Dion | 10/07/2021 |

Field gate and steeply up over rough sheep pasture via 494m spot height to Saddle Yoke -> Under Saddle Yoke then across to here via the 2 Cape Law SE Tops (loggable on Harold Street). On to Hart Fell -> Falcon Craig -> Swatte Fell -> Nether Coomb Craig, dropping down to Capplegill and along road to car for an 11 mile round. All Dumfries-shire hills on HB now ticked off. | jonglew | 29/05/2021 |

Parked by Blackshope cottage, W a short way along road, then through pasture and up hill E side of Hang Burn to Nether Coomb Craig, continuing along ridges to Swatte Fell, Falcon Craig, Hart Fell, E over Hartfell Rig up to near 709m spot, out and back to Cape Law, then S via Redgill Craig to Under Saddle Yoke and Saddle Yoke, descending down to Blackshope. | kdbennett | 27/09/2020 |

The 6th of 10 Donalds on an anticlockwise circuit of the Gameshope Valley, starting with Garelet Hill & finishing on Carlavin Hill. From Din Law, down to rough col & then up faint path to fence corner summit. Continued to Firthhope Rig. (S) | gerrybowes | 07/06/2019 |
Final summit of the day and lunch stop, behind wall gaining respite from breeze although weather remained excellent for walking.. Left CL on 20deg M to descend to old red hut at 135164, which is almost falling into burn from Rotten Bottom. Continued over v rough terrain, with a few traces of a track-laying vehicle on an investigation of ground - for sapling planting (?) and on, v tired, to join old track at Gameshope Bothy and back to P. First visit was also solo on 15/07/2015. This entry and the previous five were a repeat of the walk on 15/07/2015 but the repeat took me 30 mins longer - such is the effect of the passage of time ! | jacobus | 15/05/2019 |
13.1 mile walk from Talla Linnfoots, followed pass up east then lane, turned onto and climbed fairly steep slopes to top of Carlavin Hill, followed wall to Molls Cleuch Dod, descended and ascended Lochcraig Head up to summit then to edge to see the stunning view down on Loch Skeen, followed edge around to Mid Craig, climbed ridge then across to Great Hill, considerable descent to Games Hope Burn, then re-ascent of Cape Law after followed nice grassy ridge onto Din Law, Garelet Dod, shapely Erie Hill, Lairds Cleuch Rig and finally Garelet Hill with its very damaged trig, then descended very steeply back down to Car. Not a cloud in the sky all day, easy terrain mainly throughout, hot but with lovely breeze, saw about 10 people all day mostly from a far, this must be be a popular area of the Southern Uplands! | DanTrig | 30/06/2018 |
Round of 4 Donalds anticlockwise from bridge over Blackhope Burn. Plenty of ATV tracks by fences, dry underfoot. | AndrewFinnimore | 23/05/2018 |

Struggled to find the top. Full load of snow the night before made the flat top featureless! With Brian R. | Play2End | 04/02/2018 |
Garelet ridge in snow. Parked at Talla Linnfoot, crossed the bridge, followed footsteps up the steep slope to Garelet Hill. Then Laird's Cleuch Rig, Erie Hill, Garelet Dod, Eller's Cleuch Rig, Din Law and Cape Law, returning by the fence, cutting into the valley of the Gamehope Burn from the col SW of Erie Hill, wading the burn, and following the track back to Talla Linnfoot. A superb, but very cold, day. | Nick Down1 | 10/12/2017 |
Garelet Ridge. Parked at Talla Linnfoots. Horrifically steep ascent to Garelet Hill, then followed ridge to Cape Law - 7 summits including 3 Donalds and 3 Donald Tops. Dropped down to Gameshope Burn for return - followed west bank to Gameshope bothy, then had to wade the burn as none of the alleged FBs on the OS map exist - quite hair-raising after snow melt! Then followed good track back to start. | Crib Goch | 25/03/2017 |
Alone, round of the Gameshope Burn. | Grinner | 05/03/2017 |
Saddle Yoke, Under Saddle Yoke, Cape Law, Din Law from S, camping near summit of Cape Law. | RobertP | 22/10/2016 |

Continuation of walk from Din Law. Easy descent dow to col, then up to summit following ATV track by fence. To descend, walked down through rough grass (but no tussocks) to cattle shed by Games Hope Burn, crossing the stream nearby. Then folllowed a walk down the fine Games Hope glen, mainly close to stream after cutting the corner off north of the cattle shed. A bit of a path developed by the stream near a ruined byre, developing into a good track at the buildings at Games Hope. Arrived at the car shortly after sunset. Solo. | Man of Kernow1 | 02/10/2015 |
Solo, continuation from Garelet Dod via Ellers Cleuch Rig and Din Law. NNE from summit of CL, passed Gameshope Loch and small shed: followed course of Gameshope Burn on its right side (rough terrain with hints of a path) to Gameshope and on track back to Talla Linnfoots. Weather remained good all day. | trienbrae | 15/07/2015 |

A tiring climb up of 100m+ after running down Hart Fell, trying to beat failing light (nice purple shades on distant hills) Struggling now. With Darren - 8 hours into a 30km+ big running bag of 20 tops. | Chris Pearson | 03/08/2011 |
Followed undulating ridge from Saddle Yolks. | derekblackburn | 29/04/2011 |
My last Donald at 13.50. From the east of Talla reservoir, via Garelet Hill. No cairn. Calm. Silence. | arranc | 28/04/2011 |
Parking at the entrance into the Valley appears to be tolerated, just keep clear of the garage. | Moore100 | 05/03/2011 |
Day 2 of a solo stay in Moffat. Parked just to W of bridge at 159115 & then walked along the road a short distance past Carrifran to the gate. The track was a bit overgrown & a way had to be forced over to the wall running steeply straight up Carrifran Gans. A fairly brutal ascent (which was descended 3 years later after Martin66's last Donald - worse), but once you're up the going is easy. Then on to White Coomb & round over Firthope Rig following the boundary, before veering S to take in the fine pair of Saddle Yoke & Under Saddle Yoke. Then back to the main circuit for an out & back to Cape Law & Din Law, then back to the boundary over Hartfell Rig & on to Hart Fell. Headed S along the cliff edges over Falcon Craig, Swatte Fell & Nether Coomb Craig. Finished at Capplegill farm & then a 2km walk back along the road. Warm & sunny round & a good way to do these hills. | NotReallyABagger | 01/09/2010 |
Parked by the A708 at NT 14707 09842. Climbed on a clockwise circuit of Blackhope Burn. Fence corner in centre of tiny 720m contour (25k map) appears to be highest point. | David Gradwell | 13/09/2009 |
