Cycled to top with Tim from Gillingham, drought started this week and it rained as we reached the reservoir. Unable to climb fence / gate but got to high natural level OK. | DRS | 16/08/2022 |
Short walk from Ebbsfleet station. | Mark Jackson | 06/03/2021 |
Compound locked so had to be content with a circumnavigation. | PGCE | 25/11/2020 |
As Eric Morecambe would have said - Rubbish. One horse in the compound. Others in the next field. | Campbell Singer | 17/10/2020 |
Access to tower now difficult. | Bramley | 30/10/2019 |
Nipped up here after work and parked just below GZ. Couldn't get to the tower because of fence. Two horses present today - nice that they have company. One can scrabble up the side to the left to reach high ground. | MysteriousSue | 17/05/2019 |
Accessing the reservoir compound was easy, ground at base of tower is the highest point, but the highest natural ground seems to be outwith the resr compund, on S side of security fencing around TQ 59876 72364. | jonglew | 07/11/2018 |
Top well guarded by litter, barbed wire, brambles, CCTV, fence and pony. | squeegs | 01/07/2018 |
Gate was open to reservoir today. Horroble litter. | clivevilla | 28/04/2018 |
Reservoir with small turret. Lots of the fly tipping. | cjo | 10/04/2017 |
Longfield to Farningham Road (South Darenth). While the S top (TQ595715) provides the better views, the S edge of the pony reservoir produced highest reading on GPS (n.b. N side is a painful thorny squeeze along the compound fencing). | Smudge | 19/03/2017 |
Fenced reservoir, with lots of fly tipping nearby. | PeterD | 07/03/2017 |
This was a quick excursion just before going to Bluewater. Drove up Claywood Hill in order to get to the top. | Dragonzilla | 09/11/2015 |
Did this on a quick detour before going to Bluewater and do Christmas shopping. | steverd | 09/11/2015 |
Visited the new summit -relocated in Dec 2014 from 800m to SW at the Country Park. A shame as the new top its a dump (flytipping and brambles) -with fenced reservoir preventing access to the top (although a shetland pony was inside the compound- presumably someone visits and opens up each day) Its possible to squeeze through the brambles if you must alongside the north side of fence to reach the highest point accessible in trees next to an old bath (?) No views only the drone of the A20 below. Lovely. | Chris Pearson | 25/03/2015 |
From S, covered resr, fenced but turned out to be easy access. Parked on 'main' road | RHW | 21/02/2015 |
Parked in the Beacon Wood Country Park car park 200m s. A pleasant area for picnics and rambling about. Summit seems to be the boundary between the Country Park and the end of private gardens (sheds) - bit overgrown. | destaylor | 06/03/2014 |
