Kayak from Aberdaron. Launched from the beach on a falling tide at 11:50. Recovered kayak 1 hr 30 mins later after visiting summits of both Bach and Fawr. Extremely light winds, swell approx 2ft. Landed ob rocks for both islands, Bach first at SH 18170 2430 then Fawr at NE end (SH 1848 2464), easy scramble up rocks. | jonglew | 29/09/2020 |
Solo kayak from Aberdaron. 1-2 foot swell, light N winds. Landed similar area to Rob, easy scramble up. Fair bit of tide pushing through the gap. | AndyS | 13/09/2019 |
Aberdaron a surfing beach so beware. 1-2ft swell this pm, easy to get out and easy paddle over. Gwylan-bach first, limited landing options but able to get kayak ashore near N corner for slippery scramble up, knee deep sea beet, outcrop highpoint (SH 18167 24221 GPS) looking across to Bardsey. Then Gwylan-fawr: landing at SW end looked marginal, just SW of N corner was ideal, steeply up more knee-deep beet and tree mallow, a few stones at highpoint. Easiest launch of the 3 today and nice paddle back. Note, longish way from car park to beach. | RHW | 22/09/2018 |
Canoed across from Aberdaron beach. Easy 1 hour paddle. Landed on the south of the island followed by easy scramble to top. Also canoed over to Ynys Gwylan-bach. Paddle back a little harder because it was against the wind. Lovely weather. | andrew brown | 30/07/2016 |
Calm seas, lovely | Adrian | 08/02/2015 |
From Porth Meudwy on Enlli boat, chartered by AR especially for the trip. Landed on north-east side of island. A short easy, but slippery scramble on rock led to steep flank of rough grass, then up onto plateau and steeply up grassy summit cone to highest point. A fine viewpoint. With MP, AC and AR +1. | Man of Kernow1 | 08/02/2015 |
