Car park barrier was lower than the camper, so continued to a parking space just beyond the railway bridge to the NW. Easy walk from there.summitter27/11/2022

From country park car park at SJ 3127 4656, headed N. along path for about 450m to high point & path junction - Turned left & a short climb to summit which lies a few metres W. of path. Unusual, but very appropriate sundial sculpture. (S)gerrybowes27/02/2022
Level grassy summit area has mining themed sundial sculpture. Short woodland walk from free carpark to east on paths. Bing. Reworked and landscaped mine spoil that is now an SSSI and Country Park. Grey wintry day.Denise 22/12/2021
From the car park at SE side of the Country Park. Landscaped colliery spoil. Red route crosses summit, high point in Hawthorn at NW edge. An interesting area even on a grey day.RichardM22/12/2021

Fancied popping somewhere new for a little walk and a chat with a friend. Perfect place! Many routes to walk here, easy parking, fairly satisfying summit. Well hidden walking area.tumpawumpa11/04/2018
From large car park to the South, in the Bonc yr Hafod country park. Easy angled tracks to top. Sundial was an hour fast - should have moved stones back an hour on 29th Oct..!Aye Jimmy26/11/2017

Loads of parking. Boots not required. A well graded path all the way up to larger miner sundial which I thought was a bit slow.. Lots of decorated marker posts and info boards. Worth an hour of anyones time. Shame about the road noise.stig_nest11/05/2017

From N, pull-in and stile, then network of paths. Doubtless other parking elsewhere as plenty of folk about. Former spoil heap of Hafod colliery, nicely landscaped. My penultimate Wrexham P30, should have left it til last as the other 3 this pm rather prosaic!RHW18/10/2015
