Have done this a number of times. With family and friends. On one occasion I ran up it from the near by Mutter's Moor car park.
I met a number of Marines from the nearby Lympstone Training Centre. At the tender of 50 plus I was treated with a great deal of respect as I powered past them to the summit. They had Bergans I didn't. When they got to their check I was taking a well earned breather. Then one suggested I put on one of their packs.
