Parked by Great Mount Cottage, just southeast of summit. Continued NE along track for 150m, then through gate into woods. A few brambles and one fence, otherwise not too bad to the summit. | PGCE | 25/11/2020 |
Tricky yet fun one this. Quick lunchtime walk up a nice footpath from the Ship Inn. Soon came face-to-face with the infamous 'gate'. Decided to take the entrance just before it which also looked well-used. Quick in and out as did appear to be someone's garden. Path to the right once out of bush then a scramble to the top which was covered in ferns. Great Mount trig pillar at top. | MysteriousSue | 22/05/2019 |
Swanley to Bexley. Emulated MJ's approach. | Smudge | 04/11/2018 |
Parked at Ship Inn. That was the easy bit. I missed the fp, encountered nettles, brambles, bwf s, private gardens and then found a so called electric gate from the lane to the south. Old high wall from a walled garden with a grotto with shrine of the Virgin Mary before clambering through the wood to the trig. Took me twice as long as I had estimated. | Campbell Singer | 05/08/2018 |

Swanley - Row Hill - Farningham Wood - Farningham Road stn. Climbed over fence through trees about 5m W of the barbed-wire-covered gate. | Mark Jackson | 21/04/2018 |
From Ship Inn, along FP, over tricky gate, upwards to trig. | PeterD | 07/03/2017 |
Along RoW running NW side of pub to small gate at TQ51877123, which is padlocked and barbed-wired! Over that, through laurel and brambley undergrowth up the mound to trig pillar at top. There is a woodland track but it runs quite close to rear of Oakleigh farm house so avoided that. | jonglew | 06/02/2017 |
Delightful stroll along path with Geraldine Waring from The Ship Inn in Puddlecote Lane to the wooden gate, from north, Through laurel, 30m to another path, walk right and curving left upwards then off path left up through thin low bramble surrounding trig. | vegibagger | 29/08/2015 |
Another tricky one to access. Walked all around. Had two false starts. From south over 5 bar felt like someones garden. From north -initially after fence hop opposite some huge new mansions beaten by brambles and barbed wire fence combo, but then ah- ha from due N of top -a small gate with gap to rough going with only moderate brambles to top. | Chris Pearson | 25/03/2015 |
woodland top with a trig. | Adrian | 22/02/2014 |
Great Mount Trig at wooded summit in tiny grassy lawn with broken bench, and Daffs in full bloom. | RHW | 30/03/2008 |
