Parked by the church in Badby (the village was full of cars). Initially approached via the Knightley Way enjoying the Bluebells in the wood before deciding not to cross a field with horses in so headed back to the village and up to the main road and entered the woods from the layby. Last hill of the day before heading to Milton Keynes. | Buck | 29/04/2023 |

From layby to the west. I thought the wood might be private but a pleasant path through the beech and inevitable brambles leads to grassy avenue with a sign stating private farmland and requesting walkers stay to the path. | cjo | 12/01/2020 |

Roadside verge parking (SP 5537 5858). Once on the ridge, walked the length of the 195m contour and further. Most promising HP found was a small mound on SW side of stock fencing at SP 55752 58034. | jonglew | 19/11/2018 |
Solo. From layby on main road. Fence down, but mind the filth and flytip. No need to disturb cottage. Nice woodland up on the down. 1 of 5 Northants hills today: Badby Down, Arbury Hill, Big Hill Staverton, Newnham Hill and Borough Hill. | Pete West | 16/09/2018 |
1st of 7 tumps today. Train to Banbury then tje 200 bus to Badby. Did a loop via the Knightley, veering off to calibrate my gps ar the 195m spot height and then a broad attractive ride with gates to a scrubby woodland area, veering off to explore the subtle high points and then continuing, exiting woodland onto main road and walking back ro Badby for the next 200 bus South for the Solden Hill Lodge.. | Dazingdale | 15/09/2018 |

Short walk from layby on woodland path, access appears accepted. | rhalstead | 24/02/2018 |
Though woods from layby. Friendly signs by avenue | Colin Crawford | 08/01/2018 |
Badby to Hinton. Although having walked the Knightly way two or three times before (& stayed at Badby YH), this is the first occasion I've diverted along the summit ridge. | Smudge | 16/12/2017 |
Walked up from Badby village via Church and the Knightley Way. Beautiful walk beside Badby woods, along grassy avenue ridge to summit in woods, could be anywhere, wandered around trees and brambly bits, before satisfied. On same way back, I took in the 195m spot height to the ESE before lunch at the stile and returning. | pdantic | 16/11/2017 |
From water-filled layby through woods. | KC | 10/09/2017 |
Sunny walk to avenue via layby and wood. | Dugswell2 | 06/08/2017 |
From layby, path is on South side of the large fallen tree - discovered on way back... Some enormous trees in this wood! Thought highest part was in the wood rather than the delightful green avenue. | Aye Jimmy | 06/08/2017 |

Short outing up into the wood from the layby. Later enjoyed a DIY breakfast stop (alpine sludge) sitting in the sun by the church in quaint Badby - famous for its Morris Men tradition -and once home of the only YHA hostel with a thatched roof -sadly closed in 2005 due to lack of guests. I never did stay there. | Chris Pearson | 23/03/2017 |
Detour from the Knightley Way along wide ridge top ride flanked by fence and trees on each side. Walkers appear to be tolerated. Hard to decide on a high point but my favorite was just in the woods at the W end of the ridge. | RichardM | 16/02/2017 |

The hill can also be ascended from Fawsley in the south, where there is parking space. Follow the Knightley Way to the top of Badby Down. Then instead of going into Badby Wood, follow the track along the ridge. The highest point is probably along here. | JohnW | 09/05/2016 |

Parked at lay by, directly up through woods and into pleasant avenue , somewhere along which is the HP. | Campbell Singer | 18/02/2016 |
As others parked in Layby and followed track. Went beyond woods to make sure, but HP probably by tree just inside woods. | PeterD | 09/09/2015 |
Path starts at mid point of layby. Step over very low two strand barbed wire fence & up through wood. Went 100 metres along track beyond wood to make sure, but definitely descending by then. | ngthack | 22/08/2015 |

From NW, path starts at S end of layby by large fallen tree, I missed it in the half light. Summit could be in wood or along first 200m of track beyond. | RHW | 13/12/2014 |
