Logged Descriptions  (logged by 9 users)ByDate of Ascent
From the col between Dubh and Rama, we walked along a deep rocky cleft whose end emerges ( via a 3m easy scramble) on a very steep, grassy slope high up on the face of the hill ( note gulley entrance for return). We zig zagged up this on narrow sheep paths to the corner or rib of the hill and then ascended the narrow rib itself once it became rocky. It's easy scrambling with vegetation to assist but exposed and crumbly. the final section of ridge is quite level (albeit narrow, exposed and vegetated with windrush) and we went 'a cheval'. Summit is a slab. Returned gingerly the same way, finding a rope handy. no gear.Denise 30/06/2021
These two towers make for a fine excursion onto exposed vegetated rock of dubious soundness. From the gap between the 2 towers up the easy rocky rake/gully on SE face to cleft in E ridge. Descend cleft to gain the steep grass/rock of the NE face, over this without difficulty to gain the N ridge with airy drop on its W side. Up the ever steepening vegetated ridge on diminishing ground and increasing exposure to top-out on the knife edge summit ridge. A cheval mode is an option over the woodrush to high point rock. Delightfully exposed. We used a rope but belays are non-existent.RichardM30/06/2021
3rd of 14, as per Colin Crawford's description. Deserves to be a classic scramble of its type (strange rock and very steep vegetation), the top 20ft is really wild, especially in descent. Next stop Bioda Buidhe via the steep grass scoop west of Cleat.Dave McG30/05/2018
Having initially climbed into the Col late on 2nd June '17 came back this time armed with crampons. Went gingerly up east side grass then traversed across higher up towards NNE ridge. Only about 4-5metres from summit it had got steeper and felt too unsafe to get up that final small bit. So near yet so far. Frustration. Must come back and try and find Colin's route.vegibagger06/05/2018
As with its neighbour, this is an exceedingly steep tussle with vegetation, any rock very friable. I approached from the col to Druim an Ruma, a well protected rocky gully giving access to the north ridge not far below the top. From there on it's possible to find a relatively safe ascent, though it really is horrendously steep. Wonderfully airy summit ridge. I came down largely on my backside until steep short grass allowed a cautious descent to safetyColin Crawford23/10/2016
N ridge - v narrow and airy at top but good ground. Summit itself is an arete of spongy woodrush, disturbingly wobbly, fantastic location. First tried vegetated slope from NNE - retreated. Druim an Ruma route easily reachable skirting round E side on steep easy grass. Pre official prominence recognition - got to within 15 feet of the summit up the NE ridge/edge before discretion and wife's anxiety determined a climb down. And it was a bit scary.summitsup12/06/2009
