| Norman had arranged a very nice council employee to let us in through the padlocked gate. Inside the fort there is no evidence of the original Mount Touraille summit, the area is totally flat and no higher than outside the gate! | Front gate locked, but round the back, banking higher than all man made objects. The following day we managed to arrange for the gate to be unlocked fir us so 10 in the party wandered around inside the Fort checking on any possible high point. | NormanW | 14/09/2023 |

| With RHW and Dugswell2. Cycled across from the island HP after a night under the stars at Clonque Bay. Fort not open to the public but weak point is a granite wall in need of pointing to RHS of the gate. Climbing up ok, a rope came in handy on the reverse. HP seems to be natural rock several metres to the LHS of the gate. We stood well above that on top of a gun emplacement at N49.72691, W2.18453. | Early morning with JonG, scrambled up R side of gate, OK holds but glad of rope on descent. Summitted HP of fort which is at N end. Natural HP appears to be exposed rock on perimeter L of entrance and 2m higher than ground at gate; we were directly above it. Also summitted Ile de Raz 2h before low tide, Fort Houmet de Herbe, then Fort Les Homeaux Florains just doable 1hr before low tide with some scrambling. | Sailing trip, moored in the huge Braye harbour which Fort Albert watches over. Road track reaches perimeter of the Fort protected by deep steep sided dry moat. High point of fort is concrete gun placements on W edge. N49.72689deg, W002.18452deg. 65m WGS84. Currently used as island works department storage area. | RichardM | 01/07/2017 |
