Small
Mound on level grassy top with a few windswept hawthorns. Ascended trail bike track from xx . Not too steep or loose. A lot of spoil! | Denise | 07/03/2024 |
Parked at Corecut, crossed dyke and followed paths to the summit. Short of time to go to south bing too, as flying from airport in 3 hours. | willyross | 16/05/2023 |

Second visit to the pair of bings, from the canal. Trail riders out in force | Colin Crawford | 04/03/2023 |
From Corecut, as others, good verge parking (NT 0825 7383). Multiple tracks lead up. On to the South Top. | jonglew | 08/02/2023 |
As others. Fabulous views. | lordtonult | 23/08/2022 |
As others parked at Corecut. Steeply up then onto the south top. | Andrew Simmons | 05/06/2022 |
Parked at Corecut, crossed a dyke and followed the path to the summit. | JAdair97 | 19/05/2022 |
From bend at Corecut to NW, tracks all the way, on to S top. | agentmancuso | 19/11/2021 |
X24 bus to Broxburn PO. Up to canal. 2nd bridge, then steeply up. Fantastic. Showers in Fife cut out some of the view. | Thearlaichdubh | 28/04/2021 |
From the entrance to the Corecut depot on the B8020. Easily up to the top, then a bit more effort required to descend to the col and bag the South Top, returning the same way. The usual motorcycle antics. | NormanW | 15/10/2020 |
South top and the main bing from industrial estate over the canal bridge. A really enjoyable wee trip up these steep hills and great viewpoints. Could these be the best bings in Scotland? | sclater | 12/09/2020 |
As per Topographer57 | curlebd | 14/03/2020 |
Interesting detour whilst cycling on the union canal tow path....very interesting, very poor weather day, will have to go back here, the views from this must be excellent. | hils | 25/11/2019 |
From NW starting at entrance to Corecut. Track up to summit but it is becoming a deep groove probably because NUV notices are being ignored by knob head motor bikers. | Topographer57 | 15/10/2019 |
From Corecut parking spot. | Play2End | 17/03/2019 |
By the main track from Corecut. | hillsman | 06/02/2019 |
From Corecut Ltd on the B8020 to the NW. This is a good route as the climb to the top is in three stages followed by short bits of flat sub plateaus Fantastic viewpoint especially of the three white 'sails' of the new Queensferry crossing bridge. | vegibagger | 10/12/2018 |
Uphall station-Pyothall trig-Greendykes Bing-GB S top-Ratho Hill-Tormain-Kirknewton station | campagvelocet | 19/04/2018 |
Parked in gateway just before Corecut. Crossed the road to the obvious foot path and followed this a short distance. Took the path heading off to the left which turns into a track/Rut leading to the summit. Great day for a wander about the plateau top admiring views | Jubilado | 01/02/2018 |
What a fantastic creation. No 22 bus to Broxburn Co Op, up hill to canal tow path, Right to bridge over canal at edge of industrial estate, then keep bearing left on big track to summit with views from Ben Lomond to N Berwick Law. Awesome. Worth wandering all along the summit plateau. Then on to S top which isn't half as good. PS best done midweek to avoid trail bikers, but ground underfoot is strong and stable and mud free | Thearlaichdubh | 07/11/2017 |
parked outside corecuts good path to the top. | robertphillips | 24/02/2017 |
My first bing, very interesting. Passed the hill test. It has a south top too. | alda | 19/06/2015 |
From NW, obvious path, a few steeper ones for some fun on the way down. The day after Pete! | RHW | 09/05/2015 |
The least steep ascent appears to be from the eastern end of the Corecut works, at NT084739. Then the main track seems to be heading too far left, but isn't. Alternatively there are direct routes requiring all the friction that walking boots can offer.
This hill might be too industrial for some tastes, but I like it a lot. Great views, buzzards and wheatears, a number of small mature trees. I was the only one up there on the sunny morning after the election, until a trials biker arrived. Good for him, I thought. | Pete R | 08/05/2015 |
As chrisbien. Summit at noon. Large plateau at summit, but highest point is obvious. Looks like lots of trail or is it trial bikes make use of the bing, despite the signs from Hopetoun Estates forbidding all vehicles. | Minto | 11/11/2014 |
P at right angled bend to NW. Path and track to top. | chrisbien | 21/09/2014 |
Glad to see I`m now not alone in bagging bings ! | ARM | 06/12/2009 |
