9th and final top of a round from Glecknabae. Tiring but not too bad. Spring probably is the best time to do this round. Climbed Barlia, Corval, Torran Turrach, Muclich, Black Hill, Sight Hill, Badlia and the 2nd Torran Turrach before continuing finding a nice grassy track to help then climbing flanks of Gray Craig. Wonderful views again of Inchmarnock. Descent West to check out the chambered cairn then descent through lovely mossy woodland to reach road and then South a bit to the start. | Dazingdale | 19/05/2021 |
Left car at wemyss bay, ferry over to isle of bute, biked up to near kilbride farm, glecknabae hill, torran turach, badlia hill, kilbride hill, windy hill repeat, kames hill. | robertphillips | 13/03/2020 |
A round of nine tops in the north of Bute, one of my most tiring outings of this year. I can only echo Jon's comments on the appalling terrain, though he seems to have omitted the deep marshy areas which saw me soaked to the thighs on a couple of occasions. Glecknabae, Torran Turach and Badlia are only moderately rough but the others are truly dreadful. Probably best tackled in a dry spring. | Colin Crawford | 28/09/2017 |
From Glenmore Farm. Direct to summit. On to Torran Turach. | jonglew | 28/08/2017 |
With Charlie. Long hot day with him cramping from Gray Crag onwards. P by Kilbride buildings. Sort of track to top with gates. Descent to Glenmore horrible. WIW to forest then over White Hill and onto Torran Tuarch. Picked up track up GC. After Glecknabae down through fields to road back to car | chrisbien | 24/07/2017 |
