3 of 4 RHSoc SIB trip day 2tim74710/08/2022
Landed at Bountifur pier by the Brimoy having phoned Golgotha monastery first for permission. Walked around with no interaction or site of monks via track then fields to summit then flat pack lighthouse. A very tidy place with healthy sheep.Dugswell210/08/2022
Golgotha monastery island. A group of young monks apparently, though we didn't see any other than looking through crack in the door of large plastic green house in which I could see small orange trees with fruit on and in the distance a monk watering plants.vegibagger10/08/2022
As Denise, but not the lighthouse.Minto04/08/2022
Landed at Bountifur Pier after contacting the monks.jonglew03/08/2022
With Brimoy, northerly Marine. Landed on substantial jetty ( Bountifur pier) having phoned Golgotha monastery first for permission. They offered a tour but we didn’t have time! Various religious statues, past monastery buildings but also a working farm, with monks working. Followed field track to summit- grassy mound; also visited ‘flat pack’ lighthouse.Denise 03/08/2022

Third of 7 on a day planned by Bob and Sarah Kerr and superbly executed by Northerly Marine Services from Kirkwall on a beautiful sunny day. Got permission from monks and tried not to disturb their peace.Thearlaichdubh02/08/2019
