Nine am RSPB boat across from Orford Quay with Adrian and Rob for just under 5 hours on the island for £17.50, so great value.Dugswell204/03/2017
With Adrian and Doug. Highpoint is level gorsy area towards SW end of island near huts (fenced off for habitat regeneration but were allowed to visit); from there a grassy shingle ridge extends towards SW end of island with another gorsy area 650m WSW at possibly as high. Logged before DL, can't remember who landed first but he organised the trip - thanks.RHW04/03/2017
Enjoyable and relaxing visit. Entertainment provided by dugswell2 and RHWAdrian04/03/2017
From Orford Quay. First boat went 0900hrs followed by 2 or 3 more. Returned at 1020 after visiting the HP and spending some time in one of the hides. Then went across to Orford Ness - far more interesting, spent 4 hrs or more on there. Warden on Havergate informed me highest natural ground was the gorsey scrubland to NW side of the huts at TM 411 470. The 2m spot height on the map is currently out of bounds due to lesser black backed gull nesting area so unable to investigate that.jonglew30/07/2016
(not visited - info) http://www.rspb.org.uk/ boat leaves Orford quay at 10 am and returning to Orford at about 2 pm, on the first Saturday of each month only.
