Parked up in Belmont avenue then took old railway line up before starting to explore the gardens, quarry and then the Ginnels of Goddard. Highest point is probably some wasteland used as a skip by one of the owners, this is in line with the Ginnel near the highest point of Goddard. The Back ginnel seems just as high as the throughway. Swindon ua completed. | Dazingdale | 07/04/2023 |
Parked. Got out of car. Got in again. | sclater | 19/01/2023 |

A quick stop outside 137 Goddard Road. Marginally more interesting than Blunsdon Hill earlier | ekm | 03/04/2022 |
Walked round 137 Goddard Ave/ginnels and got away by 1655 hrs- traffic wasn't so bad. Nice area ?if you don't have a car. | pwheeler | 23/08/2021 |
Outside 137 looks good but it feel like the ginnel to the east is higher. | DC11main | 11/07/2021 |
137 Goddard Avenue. Had a quick wander about. | PGCE | 21/09/2020 |
A midday visit and a wander up the length of Goddard Street. The lane opposite No137 gave the highest point on my Garmin. Returned via the Town Gardens. The visit provided a chance to pass Euclid Street, where my Dad went to school. | milimana | 24/07/2020 |
Parked opposite 136 and walked from there. | jimbloomer | 02/11/2019 |
137 Goddard has it for me. Managed to negotiate the Magic Roundabout en route from Blunsdon (more by luck then judgement). Swindon completion. | Bramley | 20/05/2019 |
Wandered about, thought that Goddard Avenue near junction with Commonweal Road as good as anywhere. Another unsatisfactory one. | Aye Jimmy | 14/04/2019 |
Centre of the road outside 137 Goddard Avenue (SN1 4HX for the satnav). | clivevilla | 30/01/2019 |
Good Christmas decorations at No137. | Chris Peart | 30/12/2018 |
137 Goddard Av. Will do for me. My great grandfather and other family are buried in Kingshill Cemetery, half a km to the north. | Campbell Singer | 23/12/2017 |
A quick break from the Cyclo Cross event we were at on the other side of Swindon. Brow of the hill at approx N°137 | DanMaisieBex | 24/09/2017 |
Parked up and had a walk around. | Dugswell2 | 07/03/2017 |
Railway station to New Town. | Smudge | 26/02/2017 |
At alley way / road junction, No137 Goddard Ave. Having wandered the roads and alleyways in the area I decided I'd better depart before my behaviour may be misconstrued as suspicious. The nearby Town Gardens and old quarry are worth a visit. Town Gardens has bank on W side which feels as high. | RichardM | 18/01/2017 |
Surprisingly long walk round the area and through the park and along Goddard avenue. I feel they high point could be in the park but difficult to say without survey. | vegibagger | 14/11/2016 |

So..finally a visit to see a Tump which I found from tricky contour map detective work having noticed a steep hill which we drove up and down on a previous food shopping trip into Swindon from a dog minding week in Wiltshire. To be frank finding this new Tump was more exciting than seeing it in the flesh. Online crime mapping shows the last 3 incidents hereabouts were criminal damage, antisocial behaviour and the theft of a bicycle - disappointed hill baggers being responsible perhaps? | Chris Pearson | 25/05/2016 |
parked nearby and had a quick loop of the likely streets. | rhalstead | 01/01/2016 |
Very level area. Bagged on way home from Wiltshire | RHW | 31/08/2015 |
Agree with previous comments, high point appears to be on Goddard Avenue | Ramblingpaul | 03/08/2015 |
High point probably in a house or garden. | Herbert Anchovy | 04/06/2015 |
Think the HP is on Goddard Avenue, but difficult to tell, also went down one of side lanes to east. | PeterD | 30/05/2015 |
Goddard Avenue back gardens/garages | Adrian | 30/05/2015 |
Difficult to determine precise HP, maybe on Goddard Avenue or in one of the gardens thereon. Found a possible HP at rear of houses on E side of that avenue, around the area of a community tennis court - lot of graffiti and rubbish, on W side of an old quarry dating back to Roman era which is now a community wildlife garden 'Swindon's Secret Garden'. | jonglew | 27/04/2015 |
I agree with Hillsidenick, however before this area was known as Old Town it was just plain old Swindon, so Swindon Hill? or the land was part of Westlecot Farm as owned by the Goddard family, so Westlecot Hill? but not Okus Hill. | Jacqdaw | 01/09/2003 |
Well done to the person who added this hill.
Walked over this top literally hundreds of times (mainly walking the dog) since moved to Old Town in Swindon in August 2003.
Fairly certain top in along pavement on Goddard Avenue.
Not sure about name, as this top is not in the area of Okus. Hill doesn't have a name, but locals refer to this area as Old Town, so Old Town Swindon may be a better name. | Hillsidenick | 01/09/2003 |
Hometown - been up and down here hundreds of times. | Jugganaut | 01/01/1994 |
With:solo; Walked around here while staying on business at Goddard Arms Hotel. Date is approximate. | Ian Baines | 10/05/1978 |
