Quick loop of Aust Cliff and Aust Hill, 2 very unassuming summits one must say. Followed the very overgrown Severn Way trail from Aust Cliff along and hopped the gate, coming up past the Sewage Works (lovely...not) before hopping another gate and following the treeline up and around taking great care not to trample crops on my way to the original tump. Not much to look at or see bar a small stagnant looking pond under the trees. Very much felt like it wasn't somewhere to hang around for long with excessive amounts of clay pidgeon shooting debris laced around the outskirts of the fieldlboutside11/06/2023

Aust Cliff and Aust Hill from the Travel Lodge at 57037 89741. A liitle bit tricky to find the road to Aust Hill. You have to walk along the exit to the services then double back.clivevilla15/10/2019
After Aust Cliff, Severn Way f/p through wood, field edge then across field to gates either side of lane. Through these, then L and awkward fence into summit field.Aye Jimmy30/06/2019

Parked at motorway services and ascended the new top at ST569898. Followed path through the woods on the new top then across fields to this top. Better route than via the scrap yard.webmaster19/02/2017
Welcome to 'Now What?' - the forlorn motorway services - little used but limping on since the Second Severn crossing was opened in 1996. There could be a rival summit on top of the grass slope (at a survey post)to the N of the once largest cafeteria in the UK (now an insurance office). Behind this building is a bridge viewing area and info about the bridge being selected by Sri Chimnoy as a peace symbol linking people of the world -along with the Matterhorn! Aust Hill never really got a look in I guess. Then same route as others passing the assortment of scrap metal versus useful items - the owner of which must surely every day look longingly at 'The Bridge'? I love the name Potato Tump just to the NW !Chris Pearson06/02/2017
Bridleway.north past all the old cars and mobile homes then up east and into the field. Couple of electrified fences to duck under. Del boy has a reliant robin in top of a big metal container. One day he says he'll paint it yellow!vegibagger22/10/2016
From Aust Services, up the service road, over the gate, over the fence, to the high ground just before the old barnMariana Trench19/08/2016
As others. First tump climbed from a motorway services. Had a whopper from the Burgerking in the services for my lunch.ngthack29/07/2016
Parked in Motorway Services, walked through travellers' residence and up lane into field. Good views of Severn, the old bridge and across to the Forest of Dean.Campbell Singer17/04/2016

County completion. Similar route to HA. Pasture summit with views over the Severn.Adrian16/01/2016
From sw, standard route. Originally suggested Potato Hill more entertaining I thought.RHW25/12/2015
Came up the M4 from Reading to complete this new point in S Gloucs. (should have done my homework as I chose the wrong lane and it cost me £6.50 to cross into Wales on the M4 and back on the M48). Parked just a little way up the lane leading to the Sewage Works. First gate on the right at the top of the lane lead across to an easy fence and up to the hp at the top of the field. 420m day back to ManchesterGordonAdshead30/09/2015
Parked in Severn View Services and followed tried and tested route past travellers camp and along gated road. High point is in adjacent field to the barnRamblingpaul27/09/2015
Parking in Aust Service area. Tricksie finding way onto RoW, then along what I took to be a private road, no signs but it was gated. Finally over a field gate into a cattle pasture. The HP is not overly obvious, but a fair assumption can be made.jonglew24/09/2015
From Services, through scrap yard and up lane, over gate and then into second field. HP seemed to be towards fence.PeterD24/09/2015
Parked in the Severn View services and started by ascending the small hill behind the Travel Lodge. Nice views of the old bridge from there. Picked up a path through the wood before heading across a few fields of pasture and a small road. I reckoned the top was in some pasture just before a dried out pond and rusty old barn. Also investigated what i took for a small covered reservoir in the next field just in case. Back to the car via the road and a small gypsy camp and scrap yard.Herbert Anchovy15/09/2015
