From the car park just west of the helipad. Lovely walk up into the Lost Valley. Good path up to Bealach Dearg the last bit on the scree was a bit poor and wouldnt be great in wet weather. It was then an easy walk up to Stob Coire Sgreamhachs cairn. The top was in cloud. I returned to the bealach and headed up easy slopes to the summit of Bidean. I did get some views which was great. It was then down to the col with Stob Coire Nan Lochan and up to the summit. This was a bit scrambly but easy. From the summit I headed down through the boulder fields of the north west ridge and then down into the Coire Nan Lochan where I followed the good path to the car park. Time taken including stops 6.5 hours for 8 miles.isabelle07/06/2022

Spent the weekend at the Ochils Mountaineering Club cottage in Crianlarich. Sunday 29/08/21, I met up with Alex McBride and we headed up Bidean nan Bain. Starting up the steep east slope of Beinn Fhada, to bag its two Munro Tops. Followed by the appropriately named 'bad step', which was a bit airy for comfort, on the ascent to the 1st Munro of Stob Coire Sgreamhach (1072m). Then Bidean nan Bain (1150m, 2nd Munro), from where I ventured west for the Munro Top of Stob Coire nam Beith (1107m) and then back up to Bidean. The return to the car meant we had to ascent the fourth and final Munro Top of the day Stob Coire nan Lochan (1115m), then around the west side of Coire nan Lochan and back to the Three Sisters car park 10:50hrs after leaving the Beehive Cairn car park, both of us suitably knackered.chillyman829/08/2021

At 27degrees it was too hot for another round of the tops so just did this one - via the lost Valley path to the split just under the slopes leading to the scree section where the old wee path goes to the Bidean-SCnL col and up from there. Met Sylvia at the SYHA the night before and invited her along for a walk - not sure she knew what she had agreed to! We walked the normal route but backwards. Lots the path a couple of times on the way up because of snow, but were headed in the correct direction so not too worried! Looks like it was snowstorms everywhere but on out route that day! The views were endless and we stood still whenever we could to soak them in. Finished with a bum slide into Coire Gabhail, which nearly put a hole in my waterproofs. Then somehow lost the path getting out of the Lost Valley and spent too much time rock-hopping over slimy boulders in the river. All in the name of fun!kateslattery9025/10/2019

Added a few additional tops to e walk along the ridge from Stob Coire Sgreamhach, the scrambling on this ridge was pretty easy. The hidden valley (on ascent) was stunning with lots of Deers. With a party from Alltshellach, the HF Guesthouse. This was the harder walk, which was to have been to Stob Coire nan Lochan and Bidean nam Bian. Led by HF leader, Steve Cowen. We went by coach to the parking area for the path to the lost valley etc and walked up the path through Coire nan Lochan. We ascended the east ridge of Stob Coire nan Lochan. Here Steve asked me to help keep an eye open for any who might be a little unsure on the scramble, which is not difficult. There were several youngsters in the party. We reached the summit of Stob Coire nan Lochan. Here Steve became unwell, perhaps suffering from heat problems. I took over the leadership for a while and took the party down to the lost valley. Steve recovered and fun was had climbing the large boulder that lies immediately above the steep bouldery slope that leads down to the glen bottom of Glen Coe. The youngsters much enjoyed this.pwbellarby25/07/2008

A better day - had frozen overnight higher up. With Jo & Alan into corrie by 10am -snow/ ice climbing all looked a bit black and thin. They went to queue for Twisting Gully whilst I put my crampons on (hot aches due to cold as old strap on types)and climbed solo to summit up Boomerang Gully- but missed the turn and went up the open East Flank instead until I arrived at the summit cairn, hot from the effort. Descended Broad Gully and traversed into Twisting Gully to join Alan on a stance below crux!(John having led up). I tied on around waist and seconded up it after Alan. A bit thin - mostly a bare ledgey rock wall having been kicked to bits -good tricky climbing above with rock, frozen snow, turf, loose snow -back down Broad Gully and to car for 4pm in daylight for once- sat in back for lift back to Knutsford and home to Sheffield for 11pm.Chris Pearson08/01/1995

With two friends. Since the weather was poor and said to improve later in the day a coffee stop was had at Glencoe. We started from the west end of Loch Achtriochtan following the path, recently reconstructed in its lower parts, southwards to the col between An t-Sron and Stob Coire nam Beith. Hence to the summit of Stob Coire nam Beith, Bidean nam Bian and Stob Coire nan Lochan. Down the NW and N ridge and the path in Coire nan Lochan to reach the road near the Meeting of Three Waters. Misty on top requiring use of compass and altimeter.pwbellarby19/09/1993

In my Munro's book I have recorded the date as 09/09/1977. However, I have a distinct memory that because of the bad weather on this day I went straight down from Bidean and gave it a miss. I am going with my memory and saying that the entry in my book is a mistake. Because I had recorded it as climbed I never made any particular effort to go back even though I had done all my other Munro Tops by 1987.Alan Moore03/06/1993
