An urban hill top tump I spotted back in 2017 pre JNSA by browsing Geograph when it had 5m contour intervals, and then confirmed by Lidar. Summit requires a bold and/ or polite approach to trudge up the steep driveway to and past the front door of the bungalow 50A Roamont. I rang the doorbell, and could see a lady on a computer - but she must have had headphones on as she never reacted -so once mission accomplished left her to it. My fist visit to hilly Newton Abbot - didn't know then I'd be back a few days later on a supply teaching day at the STEM college at the foot of the hill. | Chris Pearson | 28/02/2024 |
Walked up Seymour road then Petroc Drive. Up to 50a Roamont which is a bungalow. HP by tree. My 3000th English and Welsh tump could have been planned better. | PeterD | 04/03/2023 |

On a circuit around Newton Abbot. | Poolton123 | 16/09/2021 |
Fascinating walk along roads of big houses including Seymour road and up eventually into the little obscure Cul-de-sac where 50a is that has the bungalow with the summit. Knocked on the door loudly twice but no response. Loud radio playing from an open garage but no one there either. | vegibagger | 13/08/2021 |
Knocked the door of #50A, pleasant elderly lady confirmed her house was on top of the hill. Make a 90deg right turn when at the front door and the large conifer marks the HP. | jonglew | 23/09/2020 |

Residential housing with fine hill top views. We visited the entrance to No. 50a Roamont, Petroc Drive, the high point appears to be under large pine on bank on N side of garden. Didn't go further as it seemed unreasonable to disturb the owner at Sunday lunch time. A visit to 32 Seymour drive and chance meeting with frienly owner allowed a visit to his back garden which ends just below the N side of the bank. Views of Hay Tor from his garden on a clear day. Bit of a dilemma as to whether or not I should count an ascent of this one. | RichardM | 07/04/2019 |
No 46 Petroc Drive: owner indicated area immediately R (N) of front door, unclear whether natural, but waypointed it anyway | RHW | 17/06/2018 |
