With Rob. Cold sunny snow in tops. Ascended from valley met French family we failed to find scramble and ended up a grassy gully to ridge. We deferred descending the hidden valley as we did not have axes. We came off Bidean back to hidden valleydavid.walker4018/04/2023
Walked in via Coire nan Lochan as concerned The Lost Valley would be too banked out (it was, so long reverse walk out). Up Broad Gully, summitted Stob Coire nan Lochan then Bidean nam Bian - then along ridge to summit. Plenty of snow above 800m. Started in rain but clouds broke upwychwood24/03/2023

took the path into the lost valley at Three sisters then walked to the far corie and up. the path was hidden by snow so just made a beeline to go up to the bealach. the pull up to the summit was a bit tough in the snow no views.Aristotle Chip07/01/2023
From Beinn Fhada ridge. Ascent not as spicy as expected. Think I have followed the ledge from the Beinn Fhada col too far and missed the scrambling ascent. Instead ascended a slippy wet gully onto the ridge. Needed care but not difficult and quite short, then more steep grass to the ridge!steveroberts17/07/2022
From the car park just west of the helipad. Lovely walk up into the Lost Valley. Good path up to Bealach Dearg the last bit on the scree was a bit poor and wouldn’t be great in wet weather. It was then an easy walk up to Stob Coire Sgreamhach’s cairn. The top was in cloud. I returned to the bealach and headed up easy slopes to the summit of Bidean. I did get some views which was great. It was then down to the col with Stob Coire Nan Lochan and up to the summit. This was a bit scrambly but easy. From the summit I headed down through the boulder fields of the north west ridge and then down into the Coire Nan Lochan where I followed the good path to the car park. Time taken including stops 6.5 hours for 8 miles.isabelle07/06/2022

Spent the weekend at the Ochils Mountaineering Club cottage in Crianlarich. Sunday 29/08/21, I met up with Alex McBride and we headed up Bidean nan Bain. Starting up the steep east slope of Beinn Fhada, to bag its two Munro Tops. Followed by the appropriately named 'bad step', which was a bit airy for comfort, on the ascent to the 1st Munro of Stob Coire Sgreamhach (1072m). Then Bidean nan Bain (1150m, 2nd Munro), from where I ventured west for the Munro Top of Stob Coire nam Beith (1107m) and then back up to Bidean. The return to the car meant we had to ascent the fourth and final Munro Top of the day Stob Coire nan Lochan (1115m), then around the west side of Coire nan Lochan and back to the Three Sisters car park 10:50hrs after leaving the Beehive Cairn car park, both of us suitably knackered.chillyman829/08/2021

Met Sylvia at the SYHA the night before and invited her along for a walk - not sure she knew what she had agreed to! We walked the normal route but backwards. Lots the path a couple of times on the way up because of snow, but were headed in the correct direction so not too worried! Looks like it was snowstorms everywhere but on out route that day! The views were endless and we stood still whenever we could to soak them in. Finished with a bum slide into Coire Gabhail, which nearly put a hole in my waterproofs. Then somehow lost the path getting out of the Lost Valley and spent too much time rock-hopping over slimy boulders in the river. All in the name of fun!kateslattery9025/10/2019

On my brother Pete's ascent of Bidean. I was looking for a new route for myself so we decided to go via this fine looking mountain. We started by going into the 'Lost Valley' and up onto Beinn Fhada NE Top so see the log for that summit for more. To get onto the NE ridge of Stob Coire Sgreamhach, there was an intriguing rock step where it abuts Beinn Fhada. This took a few minutes to work out a scramble which we could take on confidently. The whole route had the feel of serious mountaineering (though no technical rock climbing) but that's Bidean for you. Magnificent weather with distant views (e.g. Jura)pwheeler30/05/1990

On a murky, misty & drizzly day from Glen Coe via the Lost Valley with Shaky & Mig. Climbed to the bealach & then Stob Coire nan Lochan, Bidean, Stob Coire nam Beith. Back along over Bidean (still no view) to Stob Coire Sgreamhach & then out to Beinn Fhada where a limited view appeared. Doubled back a short way & dropped down broad slope back to Lost Valley. Mig misjudged some scree & cut his arm open...NotReallyABagger16/08/1987

A superb solo day over the Bidean tops -damp cloud here -more biscuits and jam. A raven suddenly looming out of the mist gave me a scare.Good fun scrambling down north from here.Chris Pearson15/10/1984

First of several ascents, having first climbed Bidean.JohnW30/05/1974
With party from CHA Guest House, Onich. From Achtriochtan. After a struggle crossed the swollen River Coe. We went up the route via Ossian’s Cave to Stob Coire nam Lochan. Some of us attempted to climb into the cave itself but it was too wet and slimy. Continued to the top of Bidean nam Bian and then Stob Coire Sgreamhach. At the Col between these two about half the party descended scree to the Hidden Valley. The rest of us continued to the tops of Beinn Fhada before descending to the Hidden Valley.pwbellarby01/09/1970
