Back in 2017 (?) I suggested this as Tump having spotted a minuscule summit ring contour in the days when geograph online showed 5m contour rings. I enjoyed poring over maps and following the contours - often tricky in urban areas -esp. working out where the col was.In this case the col contours disappeared in an area of workings. When JNSA & Lidar arrived in 2000 it was briefly promoted before demoted as the col was found to still exist. Non the less The Knoll remains as a very steep hump of a road- like a big dipper with the summit house at the apex - (or a normal distribution curve). | Chris Pearson | 23/03/2022 |
Got out of car and strolled about the high point. | Bramley | 17/12/2021 |

I have walked down here a few times before as well. A nice view towards Ridgehill as you walk down the road. Also a niceish little nature reserve at the back of the houses which is pleasant to wander around. | sturuss | 16/01/2021 |
I walked all the way along the road from the lowest end | Alancache | 10/09/2020 |
Driveway #45 The Knoll. Possibly higher in back garden but not investigated and unlikely to be significant. | jonglew | 06/07/2020 |
Summit N side of road. Road has a well defined HP: house driveway a few cm higher than road: natural HP would be a few cm higher than drive and either under house or in back garden - ticked on basis of head(knee!)-over-summit (and that evening the summit was demoted based on re-assessment of col!) | RHW | 17/05/2020 |
