Handcross to Whitemans Green via High Weald Landscape Trail. After exploring Cuckfield's impressive church I revisited HP since there was plenty of time before bus was due. | Smudge | 29/01/2023 |
Parked to SE, then into woods and to HP to North of reservoir. | PeterD | 21/01/2022 |
Haywards Heath circular. Loose, rusty iron roofing of nearby barn at Lullings Farm was making an awful din in the high winds. | Smudge | 27/11/2021 |
2nd visit -in passing after school to collect a mosaic for L from Linfield from freecycle. End of day cold winter dusk. Rather brambly and damp with squawking roosting birds overhead objecting to my presence and causing heavy rain drops to fall on me from those leaves still on the trees. Last Word on Radio 4 incl. Cedric Robinson the characterful guide to the sands across Morecambe Bay who died this week aged 100. | Chris Pearson | 26/11/2021 |
Drove from Rusper and parked in layby E of Highlands, lovely views from the Borde Hill drive (RoW), none in the messy wood HP. 15 min bag. | pwheeler | 21/10/2021 |
Last week we were about to leave Shetland after 5 months and today we are down in Sussex visiting L's parents and experiencing 18 degree warmth for the first time in a year. A glorious early morning drop off for L's dad at Haywards Heath Hospital at 7.15 am was convenient for this West Sussex recompletion. Stunning Magnolia trees in full pink and white bloom in summit wood - a windblown overspill perhaps from adjacent NT Borde Gardens -famous for its world collection of shrubs and trees - seeded by the early 19th century Great Plant Collectors. Borde Hill Garden also has 83 champion trees that are the tallest or largest girth in Britain. Amazing what some people measure and record! | Chris Pearson | 27/05/2021 |
On Haywards Heath, Ouse Valley Viaduct, Ardingly, Horsted Keynes, Lindfield walk. First of 8 common buzzards seen hereabouts. | JOHNS | 12/03/2021 |
Parked in The Highlands (appropriately). Walked E along pavement then ROW and into woods. | PGCE | 27/02/2021 |

West Sussex Tumps recompletion | arjh | 26/07/2020 |
Parking TQ 3102 2569. Took RoW to the east, then into reasonably light woodland to fenced covered reservoir. Popped over the fence to circumambulate the covd resr, but likely no higher ground inside. | jonglew | 08/07/2020 |
From S, level summit area, plenty rhododendron and assorted interesting trees, large oak 10m N of NE corner of resr compound is atop a slight rise hence possible natural HP unless there was something higher beneath resr. | RHW | 25/05/2020 |
