Today, I joined Karen Webber, Richard Moore and Jason Fulton for the three Furths on the Glyders circuit.

Parking at Llyn Ogwen, we ascended Tryfan (917m), one of the more iconic hills in Wales. Richard and Jason tackled the Canon Stone for a cool picture. The ascent of Tryfan was almost continual scrambling, which was quite draining, but once I ontop Richard bravely (stupidly....) jumped between Adam and Eve, the two stone boulders making the summit. I chose to stand next to Adam, the highest point.

The descent off Tryfan wasn't fun and the easiest ascent up Glyder Fach (994m), took us up a scree path, rather than Bristly Ridge (I couldn't handle more scrambing).

Walking over to Glyder Fawr (1000m) for the final hill of the day, then descended down into Cwm Iwdal, then back to the car, 8:30hrs all in.

This is the final day of the OMC trip to Snowdonia, I bagged seven Furths, with only three of the fifteen Welsh Furths now remaining. | chillyman8 | 23/09/2023 |

Another adventure with Chris and Nathan. After camping in up by Lynn Idwall, we packed up camp and had an awesome morning scrambling up the north face of Tryfan. All of us jumped A&E. After heading down the south ridge, the weather came in a little, with fog and drizzle, so we abandoned Bristly ridge, and headed east along the Miner's Track (another one!) above Cwm Gwern y Gof the onto the east ridge of the Glyder range. After getting to the top of Glyder Fach, successfully locating the cantilever, we walked along the range to the base Castell Y Gwynt for some lunch in the sun. With a bit of itchy feet, I scrambled around the Castell when waiting for the others. A nice stroll along the top to Glyder Fawr, getting a few pics of the stegosaurus and the Llanberis valley then heading down the scree to the top of Devils Kitchen. Onne last slog up Y Garn, then down it's NE ridge (where some flags where set up for an upcoming ultra), quick v cold dip in Llyn Clyd to complete the loop in the r | ByronHaywood | 01/07/2022 |

Ascent via North Ridge from A5 at SH 6633 6028,to Tryfan, onto Tryfan Far South Peak then up to Glyder Fach via scree at side of Bristly Ridge, on to Castell Y Gwynt. (Well worth the scramble - this peak is deceptive when approaching from this direction and only looks like a small pile of jagged rock but opens out into the most spectacular climb once you're on it - on to Glyder Fawr and descent via Devil's kitchen and Llyn Idwal. A great, tough day, especially in the heat but a lot of great scrambling. | lindslow | 13/06/2021 |
From Tryfan. I followed the footpath slightly to the east of the ridge. This became unpleasant after a right turn towards the summit - heavily eroded in parts with few substantial points to assist scrambling. | thomasrandall96 | 31/05/2021 |
From layby on the A5. Tryfan, Tryfan far South peak, Glyder Fach, Castell Y Gwynt, Glyder Fawr and Y Garn. Absolutely amazing day! | WelshMountainGoat38 | 30/03/2021 |

Drove from WK with LF, parked in first layby east of Ogwen Cottage. Miner's Track to Bwlch Tryfan then up the scree beside Bristly to the Glyder plateau. Sunny in valley but swirls of clag on top. Patches of snow. Quite a lot of verglas on the rock so didn't summit Glyder Fach. Passed the cantilever and Castell Y Gwint. Met Elton. Descended via Y Gribbin to Llyn Bochlwd then across to Llyn Idwal for walk out. Cuppa in the Siabod Cafe. | Skip | 05/02/2020 |

Completely missed the path between the rocks at Glyder Fach, so ended up climbing over very rocky ground and then nearly ended going down Bwlch Tryfan, but a combination of a warning in the guide book and talking to people going down that way put us right. | WaggaWagg | 04/05/2019 |
