P junc to E, up track that leaves minor road c.200m S, via Ewe Hill & Auchenbainzie Hill, on to N top then curved round to rejoin the road c.200 N of Honeyhole. Summit in pleasant belt of mixed woodland. | agentmancuso | 22/04/2022 |
Parked on hard standing verge just N of Honeyhole Cottage to E. Back to Auchenbainzie Farm, and onto trac heading N through wood. Then W to summit woodland. Continued to Auchenbainzie Hill. | Minto | 14/02/2022 |
With Minto - see log. | NormanW | 14/02/2022 |
Parked off road (verges overgrown) 500m from gate then up track to col below Ewe Hill. Took atv track to Auchenbainzie Hill (new tree planting going to change things) then on to Doons. Took drainage ditch in the dry to avoid horrid ground which has been planted. Descent by good track from the coll between the hills (not the track nearer Doons). | SS | 26/07/2021 |
Jog up and down from the north, 35 mins. | AndyS | 30/04/2021 |
Roadside verge parking (NX 8286 9741). Field gate 100m N along road, pasture, mapped farm track through trees then followed wall up to the north top (302m on GPS), Hill Plantation a bit tricky to cross. Then easy ground across to the hump top - obvious mound in woodland. On to Auchenbainzie, then the 302m spot height, before dropping down ENE to pick up mapped farm track and back through the farm for a pleasant 4.5k round. | jonglew | 17/02/2021 |
Started from the bridge just short of Druidhall before climbing up towards Doons and then following the edge of the woodland to the summit. Continued out to Auchenbainzie just to be sure and then returned to the car by the same route. No problems on a dreary, overcast but dry day. | 3 kinnears | 29/11/2020 |
From the east over Auchenbainzie again then over Doons to pt.298 then east to the road. A nice wee circular walk. | bjewing | 25/10/2020 |
Up from the gate NX 8228 9837 along N side of wood via 300 spot height ground S side. On to Auchenbainzie Hill picking up new gravel road after initial bog. | Eddie | 14/09/2020 |
From the east, hp is near the base of the large scots pine tree, also visited the north top as well. | robertphillips | 06/09/2020 |
Careless, I omitted to visit the two northerly contour rings on my first visit, my excuse being that it was the end of a long day. Payback now. And my altimeter made the new high point 1m higher | Colin Crawford | 06/08/2020 |
Walked round all high points when doing Auchenbainzie Hill, including Doons. | LizH | 29/07/2020 |
