Did this one along with Sgorr Dhearg was tough climb up first one with a tough downhill from this one down through the woods was quite boggy in places on way down.supermario01/09/2020
Third and final 3000' summit of the day and 2nd Munro. Had hoped to continue west and complete Balacullish Horseshoe, but extra distance and more importantly heavy rain and poor visibility persuaded me to return over ground already covered back to beallach with Sgorr Dhearg and descend via route spotted earlier down Gleann a' Chaolaise.mntainman07/08/2020
A cracking day up Beinn a’ Bheithir today with David Hillis, a majestic mountain above Ballalchulish with two Munros and one Munro Top. Starting from the Co-op in Ballachulish, we made our way up the brutally steep shoulder of Sgorr Bhan (947m) a Munro Top, then west to Sgorr Dhearg (1024m) the day’s first Munro. There was a big drop then ascent to Sgorr Dhonuill (1001m) the second Munro, with the return via the Geann a’ Chaolais forest, which had been recently felled, 09:25hrs all in. It was dry all day and by the time we reached the Top it was sunny with a strong breeze. Stunning views from Sgorr Dhonuilll across Loch Linnhe to Lismore and Mull. Though a bit hazy, Ben More on Mull and the Cullin ridge on Skye were visible.chillyman812/07/2020
After Sgorr Dhearg and before, Sgorr a’Choise (Graham) and Meall Mor (Graham) with Malky C at Shills Xmas meet. Frozen underfoot all day, sunny, minus temps, no cloud. No snow. Rounsfell30/11/2019

Who would have thought a day in early November would be such a perfect mountain day. A wee dusting of icing sugar snow on the tops, the exposure on the last wee bit of ascent to the summit was not as bad as I had feared (after watching another couple using the outside route) I chose a different route up the middle. Only ravens & ptarmigen + 3 other humans for company. I chose a descent route down a gully with loose scree adopting a bum slide manoeuvre to get to the bottom (didnt fancy the backclimb/scramble on the exposed bit to the bealach & the recommended descent route). Picked up a path to the edge of a fence & a more defined path thru the trees to a forest road. Plain sailing from there to the car at BallachulishLizzieG07/11/2016

Martin66's last Munro on his first round (a year earlier than he thinks!). Lots of company including Dad, Shaky, the Wights & Davy Bell. Dropped a couple of cars at South Ballachulish, we started from Ballachulish, passing the school & then heading up to join the fine ridge to Sgor Bhan. On to Sgorr Dhearg & then Sgorr Dhonuill for champagne, etc. Unfortunately the mist had rolled in. Back to the bealach & then some of the lads ventured off to find a pool to jump into. Unfortunately some of them went a bit off course lower down in the forest & were decidedly cold as well as wet by the time they found the cars! Unlogged summit climbed while living / holidaying in Scotland between 1972 and 1987. Did the traverse of Beinn a' Bheithir on a clear, sunny day in, I think, 1982. One of the great days on the hills.BURGESS31/08/1987

Parked near hotel. Forest roads gave good start and muddy path through trees and swamp. Over fence. Plod up over scree to foot of cliffs. To saddle and steady plod on wide upland to top 14.00. 19 Munros in this sector in view, and Ben More on Mull. To Dhearg.arranc26/05/1983

With Yeltzbagger and ketzster. Climbed with Sgorr Dhearg. Date estimated.Stevie n Tay05/06/1982
Date is for my first traverse of Beinn a'Bheithir, the Ma summits in cloud on a deteriorating day. Crystal clear in 1990, with my brother. The seaward views with Ardgour to Ardnamurchan stand out from this summit. My log from 1990 says about the descent, rather unhelpfully, 'we went past pt.2660 to get through the forest quite easily'pwheeler17/05/1981

Several ascents but this was the first and my first solo Munro. Ferry across from North Ballachulish, through the forest and then scrambled up the north ridge. Ascent in clear snowy conditions 20/03/1984. Also ascended in 1986, 1992 and 1997.JohnW29/05/1974

From S Ballachulish and the 'Devil's Ridge'. One of our earliest youthful snowy adventures in Scotland, in dreadful conditions too.Aye Jimmy30/12/1963
Staying at Alltshellach, H.F. Guest House. Heavy rain and bad forecasts so excursion cancelled. Weather cleared up so after lunch went with H.F. A Party excursion to Ben Vair. Took track directly opposite Ferry, eventually leading to Forestry Commission road. Walked up this until crossed stream below ‘Fairy Peak’*. Took path up true R.H. bank until trees left. Ascended steep grass and rocky outcrops to summit of ‘Fairy Peak’. Continued along ridge (some pleasant scrambling) to main mountain. Ascended to summit of Sgòrr Dhonuill (omitted by some). Retraced steps. Tea at col followed by very cold ascent to Sgòrr Dhearg. Went N, crossing forest at narrowest point to point just E of the ferry. *Name used by H.F.; it is on the ridge east of Coire Sgreamhach.pwbellarby05/09/1961
With party from CHA Guest House, Onich. We walked to the Ballachulish ferry and then climbed Sgorr Dhonuill, Sgorr Dhearg and Sgorr Bhan. We returned across the ferry.pwbellarby21/07/1959
