A Nine mile horseshoe walk from the Hydro carpark taking in ten tops Caher west, Caher, Carrauntoohil, Na Cnamha, Beenkeragh, Knockbrinnea East, Knockbrinnea west, Stumpa Barr na hAbhann, Skregmore, and Cnoc lochtair, the day took Eight hours. The ridge inbetween Carrauntoohil and Beenkeragh is best done on a calm dry day when it should pose no problems.WAYNE ROWLETT03/09/2023
OMC (unofficial) trip to Ireland: Parked at Breanlee, with Ian McCabe, Richard Moore, Nicky Creadland & Tricia Teeling, we hiked up the hydro track to Lough Lochtair. Then we followed a path up the shoulder and on to the summit of Cnoc Lochtair, then along the ridge over Skregmore and up to Beenkeragh. The bones ridge was no where near as bad as the Jim Ryan guidebook (Collins Press) described. We ascended Bone Peak without difficulty, from there involved an interesting scramble around to the tops of gullies, then up to Carrauntoohil. The descent and ascent up to Caher was fine, with a bearable noticeable drop before the Caher West Top. Descending down to the NW shoulder of the West Top was slow and the steep section of the hydro road was horrible. Showers throughout the day but long periods of good views, 08:35hrs all in.chillyman817/07/2023
Saturday evening flight from Edinburgh to Cork then hire car to hydro track car park. About an hour's semi-sleep in the car then off at 3.20am wearing full waterproofs & headtorches. Wet, windy and wild ascent via the tops on the Caher ridge. Descended same route and drove back to Cork in time for late Sunday afternoon flight back to Edinburgh.Lindsay M14/05/2023

From the hydro car park, anticlockwise after an aborted attempt at the horseshoe yesterday. Much better conditions today with stunning views: Caher West Top, Caher and Carrauntoohil. Decent via O'Shea's gully and a lift to our car with a pair of kind fellow hikers!Lazylizzie30/10/2021
From Cronin's Yard via The Devil's Ladder. At the top in 2h 10m. Lunch. The cloud cleared; the crowd gasped. The way to Beenkeragh was revealed. There and back in 2hrs. Even more crowded on my return.ChrisR13/07/2019
From Cronin's Yard. With NB. Much development at Cronin's Yard since my last visit in 2005, and the path along the valley improved with the two foot bridges. Low cloud from near the base of the Devil's Ladder, which we emerged from near the summit.30 minutes on the summit in very atmospheric conditions, bright sunshine above and swirling cloud in most directions. Investigated the route to Binn Chaorach but didn't fancy the scramble, so descended down the path to beautiful Loch Coimin Uacharach and then the interesting and varied but rough and slow faint path back to the glen.Owen B28/06/2019
From hydro road Carrauntoohil via Caher. Amazing day for 4 February. Sunny and still. Lots of snow. 3 1/2 hours up, just over 2 hours back.callumorr04/02/2019

Started from Cronin's Yard after I found a tree blocking the road to the Lisleibane car park! A very wet day, with the River Gaddagh impossible to cross. Had to go 'off-piste' to reach the summit via Central Gully. Descended to the valley, then back to the car in darkness. My highest point to date. Completed as part of a Four Peaks challenge (Scafell Pike 10/1/2014, Snowdon 14/1/2014, Ben Nevis 16/1/2014).James McKnight12/01/2014
