7.6 mile walk from Galtyway car park. We followed the well defined path up to the slopes of Galtybeg, then a rough trail through the bogs up to the summit of Galtymore. Fortunately all the bogs are dry at the moment. We descended the same way back to the car albeit a little divert to Galtybeg (it had to be done!). Warm and sunny today with good views but rather hazy. Quite a few about today because of the weather. 688m ascent. | DanTrig | 14/06/2023 |
Climbed Galty mhor, Galty beg and knockeenatoung startibg and finishing at Kings yard.. | Danny Devlin | 26/07/2022 |
From the car park at the beginning of the black road route near Skeheenaranky, a six and half mile route with near two thousand feet of accent taking me just over five hours. First taking in Galtybeg then onto Galtymore ( I took longer than usual as I got into trouble on the decent from the summit of Galtymore in poor visibility and found myself on the dangerous south of Lough Currs | WAYNE ROWLETT | 16/09/2021 |
Completed Galtybeg alongside my brother & nephew who are experienced hill walkers. Visibility was limited and we had a nice day in the clouds. Cold on top so we didn't hang about for long...! | Gerry the Ranger | 01/12/2019 |

Lovely walk on the broad airy ridges after Galtymore(qv). I went NE, then to the top of the boreen, then through fields and lanes in the Clydagh valley, sunny in the cloud shelter and alive with butterflies and flowers. A good end to my walk to climb my penultimate Irish 'Munro' | pwheeler | 27/05/2011 |
