5th top of 11 on a 24km traverse from Beddgelert forest on the A4085 intersection at Pont Cae Gors. Straightforward climb from Moel Lefn. I did not look for the Owain Glyndyr cave and in retrospect I missed an opportunity there. Sheltered behind a Rock outcrop to have lunch and coffee before continuing to Moel Hebog... | Dazingdale | 28/09/2023 |

Moel yr Ogof and Moel Lefn from Bedgellert along access road to Cwm Clach and then followed the yellow arrows all the way up to the stile at the top edge of the forest. Easily up to the ridge, quite rough and rocky over Moel yr Ogof then easily to the twin tops of Moel Lefn. Down easily South and then South East to access stile. | dickscroop | 26/12/2021 |

Circuit of Hebog, yr Ogof , and Lefn from Forest car park. | Mark Sims | 27/06/2021 |
Parked at the end of Cwm Pennant and followed the ROW as far as the base of Y Gyrn, scrambling over loose slate to the summit. The section over to Castell was equally challenging on rough terrain, but did at least enable a reasonable ascent up the NE flank of Moel Lefn. It was straightforward from here, along a well worn ridge path over Moel yr Ogof, Moel Hebog, and a slightly less well defined path to Bryn Banog. The subsequent descent to the old slate quarries below added historical interest and a sense of what former times around these parts meant for the working quarryman. The ROW to Tyddyn-mawr was boggy in places, but the great wee cafe in the cottage at the end of this former quarry path gave ample time to rest soggy feet and recharge the batteries. The walk back up Cwm Pennant is fabulous if you stick to the former quarry track route (black dashed line on 1:50,000 OS Map). 6.5 hrs. | summitter | 26/06/2021 |

Route: Rhyd Ddu – Bwlch-y-Ddwy-elor – Moel Lefn – Moel yr Ogof – Moelfryn – Rhyd Ddu. Stats: 5hrs38, 17.5km, 891m ascent. Weather: claggy, with intervals of sunshine, mist, & rain. Notes: bad knee pain on descent of Moel yr Ogof – made use of poles; Moelfryn very challenging to reach due to dense vegetation. | millionmts | 02/11/2019 |
