Beddgelert, Llyn Dinas, Moel y Dyniewyd, Grib Ddu, Craig y Llan, Beddgelert. Ascent of Moel y Dyniewyd was from the North. Nobody else seems to take that route. Now I know why - nothing to commend it at all.ijpowell27/03/2024
Parking in NT CP (£4), toilets, at Aberglaslyn SH597462. Under rly arch, up Cwm Bychan on pitched path to col at SH606480. ESE over several false summits including up very steep line beside fenceIsbjorn01/02/2024

With Mo. Parked in Beddgelert and followed an excellent BBC Countryfile route through the Pass of Aberglaslyn, diverting to the summit and back to make a 7.5 mile walk. Approaching the summit from the south meant I picked the wrong side of the fence to follow, making for an intersting scramble. Was corrected on the descent, which made it much easier. Great views all round.gbeniston17/10/2023
5.8 mile circular from Beddgelert. We Walked along lovely river path to Pont Aberglaslyn then followed good path up Cwm Bychan to col. An out-and-back to the summit on a narrow trail that goes up steep rocky rises and takes you far too close to a rusty barbed wire fence. We then headed back to Beddgelert taking the stupidly steep descent path below Mynydd Sygyn. 485m ascent. Good views but most of the higher summits around were in cloud.DanTrig12/09/2023
Roadside parking at West end of Llyn Dinas to complete an anticlockwise Aberglaslyn circuit. I spotted the Marilyn was just off our route so we followed the fence line up and back as a slight detour. Easy going.KevPalmer13/08/2023
From NT car park below Nantmor village. Followed public footpath NE to the highest point then undulating walk by fence to double summit. The highest point is south of the fence. Solo. Got absolutely soaked on the way back.Dangerous Dave14/07/2023
With GSAL Scouts and Explorers from Beddgelert, doing the Aberglaslyn circular walk, with an extension along the fence line from the top of the pass. Very heavy showers, and very wet underfoot - feet soaked. Warm sunny intervals between. 12km with 440m ascent, taking us 5 hours.silverwolf_alan11/07/2023

From lay by at W end of llyn Dinas up lovely path by Afon Goth then the fence to top. Down via the track to the copper mine and the walk along the river. Beautiful round walk in fantastic weather and wonderful views in all directions.pog10008/08/2020
Up and down from Aberglaslyn. Got to the col, then followed a reasonable path along the fence. Superb views. On to Moel Ddu afterwards.huwthomas28/07/2020

From the copr mines via Bwlch-y-Sygyn then along to the style at SH606481 where there is a path on the north side of the fence all the way to the summit. Returned same route but explored various mine shafts on the way down. With elizyanne.GmacT24/07/2019
Lovely day Zig zagged up the hill above copper mine museum. Followed path up until stile then followed path up hill to small summit. Headed back and examined copper mine workings. Interesting walk with different settings.elizyanne24/07/2019
A Marilyn round from Beddgelert, visiting Moel Hebog, Moel-ddu, and Moel y Dyniewyd. Also took in Bryn Banog on the route between Moel Hebog and Moel-ddu. Altogether 22.7km with 1530m ascent, taking 8h 20m.silveracorn_alan10/05/2019

From Nantmor CP (£4.00). Moel-Ddu & its W top visited first - then back to CP & on to Moel Y Dyniewyd (there is a path through heather from high point of pass). Moel-Ddu is an excellent hill with super summit views - I basically followed the mapped path but made the mistake of not crossing the FB early on in the forest & following a signed path that is not mapped.ger27/03/2019

From Beddgelert we climbed up to SH 6054 4868 above the Sygun Copper Mine from the back lane. Then via Bwlch-y-Sygun (easy scramble) to Grib Ddu. Then followed wall to summit. Returned to Grib Ddu then took the path down to Llyn Dinas and walked back to Beddgelert on the A498 roadside.G4OBK (Phil)16/08/2016
Pretty tough walk from Beddgelert to Nant Gwynant hostel, coming up here first and then on to the two Cnicht Pedwars. Met Maria P futher along, who was a very close person in my life for over a year. You never knew know who you just might bump into whilst out on the hills ...Twice Shy29/07/2016
Parked in Beddgelert, circular walk. Through Aberglaslyn pass along the fisherman's path, then up Cwm Bychan to the top of the pass, then followed fence line to the top. Walked along faint paths to the right of the fence before realising better paths on the left(climbed over fence). Descended same way then onto Grib Ddu and Craig Y Llan. Dropped down path direct to Beddgelert.Rob5003/07/2016
From Sygun copper mine- best route is to take the obvious track which reaches the crest of the ridge well to the west of the top, then follow the path which parallels the top fence to the summit. This was my return route- outbound involved a lot of heavy cross country yomping!Cas-gwent05/05/2016
From track to nne via two locked small bothy type buildings and subsidiary tops then wnw to tump summit and sw to tump summit then down into Beddgelert and two mile hitch up the road.vegibagger30/04/2016
A nice walk in torrential rain from Beddgelert. An easy stroll to Sygun mine. I had the brilliant idea of going up via the Bwlch-y-Re. No chance. Although there has been work to clear the rhododendrons, the path has totally gone. You can see where it used to go, though. It was obviously well engineered in its day. I had to back track, and then go up Bwlch-y-Sygyn, which is very easy. There is a good track all the way to the main path, dodging round a knoll (worth climbing), past a mine, and across to the pass. There is a decent path up to Moel y Dyniewyd with odd bits of rocky stuff where it gets steep. There were even views from the top, despite the rain. Back via Pont Aberglaslyn, then tea and cake in Beddgelert. It's a very nice walk on a lousy day!Gill26/07/2015
From Sygun copper mine car park. Paths a little confusing on OS. Climb to copper mine building entrance and follow sign for mountain path. This leads SW and passes the upper mine exit. Continue to ridge at 300m. From here if the weather is clear tou can see the top and it's a matter of following the best line, but typically using the fence line. In the mist bear leftand look for a small cym. Exit out the back of this and at highpoint bear right and join a good path to ladder stile. Just before this on North side of fence a faint path leads all the way through knolls and rocky outcrops to summit, marked by a small cairn 10m from fence line. Need to cross the fence via a second ladder stile prominent high on the skyline.nordicstar25/06/2015

Parked in layby by entrance to Sygun Copper Mine – From mine headed SW up excellent path & then turned E & headed up to col at SH60676 48133 – After crossing stile, SE up path to summit. (PM)gerrybowes14/04/2015

Roadside parking in layby near entrance to Copper Mine. Pleasant walk up on well-made path to SH 60255 48205, then smaller path to SH 60685 48135 then trace of a track to summit. To make a circular walk planned on descending down Bwlch-y-Re - big mistake due to rhododendron infestation, which is being cleared at this time. Had to retrace our steps 200m or so back up the hill under difficult conditions.jonglew24/10/2014
From Beddgelert via copper mine and back via Aberglaslyn. We made friends with a ginger tom cat who followed us up the path from the copper mine and refused to turn back. We sped on in the hope he would stop following but he kept on until he grew tired and had to stop. However his sorrowful cries made me feel very guilty. I hope he found his way back down. Pulled up many rhododendrons too.mindlessflogger16/03/2014

From Beddgelert over Mynydd Sygun- a maze of paths in charming country followed by a rough path alongside a new fence to the Marilyn top. Though not as attractive as surrounding tops it is a very good viewpoint. Retraced by the fence then path down to copper mine, Llyn Dinas and back. 3h 35for 5.25 miles reflects the rocky undulating heathery terrain.
