Parked the car just before the cattle grid and used the track all the way to the summit, Two mile in Fifty minutes.WAYNE ROWLETT01/10/2022
8/11 Parked by the unenclosed road at SH 906 454 (plenty of room). Followed farm track, as GB, all the way to the summit of Moel y Gydros. Loads of ewes and lambs on the hill. Then continued along the ridge the the south top. From here I took a bee line back down the steep grassy hillside to the starting point, including 3 BWF to cross - so may have been better to have returned down the farm track. Good all round view from the summit. A round trip of 3km with 200m ascent in 50 minutes.silveracorn_alan15/04/2022
Moel y Gydros, Garn Prys and Moel Eglwys.Gwastadros25/03/2022
Parked at Gydros- right opposite the house. They are fine with this but do ask, mostly so they are not wondering about the mystery car- or if the space is needed. Up the RoW, then continued on the track that goes to almost to the top. The last few metres we turned N and sat in the sunshine- a very peaceful place on a very busy Sunday afternoon elsewhere. We then walked down the grassy pasture N ridge to rejoin the RoW back. With brother, Pete.pwheeler20/03/2022
Moel y Gydros, Craig yr Hafod and Graig Ddu from Llyn Celyn Dam.rhalstead02/01/2022
Ascended via track from Cadair Benllyn in the dark. Spooked the local farmer who came out as I descended to point out I was not on a public right of way (he was right). I'd assumed was CROW access land but on checking map, it isn't. He politely requests future Dewey baggers use the RoW to the summitwychwood25/11/2021

From the east, as others. Also South Top.PGCE15/11/2020
WARNING: There are significant numbers of cattle in practically every pasture on and around these hills, even loose on walled in public roads. I would strongly consider not bringing a dog to these hills. Moel y Gydros & South Top from Cadair Benllyn road summit with Rufus. Started along the track from the road summit but carried straight on alongside woodland to the Bwlch between the two summits. A quick left to the main top then followed the ridge S to the road at point 362m. Back along the road. Lots of BWF crossings and even more again to avoid cattle, would not bring a dog here again and I’m usually confident with my dog around cattle. Impressive hill anyway, an abrupt lump between Carnedd y Filiast & Foel Goch.jacobrichmond20/09/2020
From road to SW. Over Sub5 then on to the one. With B and R.jenx26/06/2019
Good parking at the cattle grid. Under one hour on good farm tracks. Solo.bolton26/03/2019
Up by the disgusting track from the road summit at SH906454 through rotting silage, farm muck and 14 million ewes. On to the South Top for a preferable descent.Eddie13/01/2018
4/6 (Mwdl-Eithin/Bryn y Gors-Goch/Moel Eglwys/Moel y Gydnos/Garn Pyrs/Foel Frech)Fergalh22/10/2017
Parked to west of Moel y Gydros at start of a track that goes to the top. Followed track firstly downhill into a valley and then uphill all the way to the top. Track leads very close to top and in fact makes a circle of it. Descent was the same as ascent but where the path flattens out before the large bend dropped straight down to the track.MikeM01/08/2017
Track from the west.Rob5026/03/2017
Tracks from the W.Chris Peart08/09/2016
From minor road to west. Parked on grass verge a few metres north of the high point at SH90635 45458 (Space for 2 or 3 cars) – Followed farm track to within a couple of metres of the summit cairn. (S)gerrybowes11/06/2016
Parked to the west (south of the brow of the road), started up a track and then veered off for the summit of both tops.clivevilla03/02/2016
Parked on verge just south of Gydros 908463. Followed right of way onto access land then followed fence south. Would be easier to use the track west of the fence but about 30 cows with calves were in the way so did not wish to disturb them or appear to pose a threat. Needed to climb barbed wire fence to gain the summit, and another en route to the south top.ijpowell26/09/2015
Parking near Hafod-yr-Esgob i first climbed Graig Ddu,followed the high ground to Trum Nant-fach and then climbed Moel y Gydros making a great circular walk.mad max23/06/2015

From layby on B4501 up farm track then bit of a trudge through heather over Criag Ddu and Craig yr Hafod, particularly beyond latter. Easy track up Moel y Gydros then down to south and along access route (difficult to follow at first) and a mile of road walk.SS05/10/2014
Plenty of space to park to the west, the track zigzagging up the hillside is the easiest route.JohnStoneham25/03/2014
