From car park to E of Rhinogs. Followed track / path to Bwlch Drws-Ardudwy, climb to Llyn Hywel and steep climb to Y Lethr (visited both sides of wall). Continued along ridge to climb Crib-y-rhiw (also visited small lump slightly earlier on ridge that isn't much lower). Returned by same route, some sunshine and good views.RobertP12/09/2023

Parked just after the cattle grid, before the farm 632258. Farmer asks for a minimum £3 donation to air ambulance. Tarmac track to Graig Isa, then follow track then ATV track (marked on 1:25k map). ATV track goes all the way to the summit. Down to corner and along to pick up nuttall of Crib y Rhiw. Back to corner then follow fence mostly on ATV tracks all the way to Moelfre. Back down to col then through gate and ATV track (again marked on 1:25k, not the bridletrack marked on 1:50k which didn't seem to exist). Hot day out, got back just before the thunder. 8.3 miles 2600ft of ascent.JulieB12/06/2023

The second of 8 tops on a breathtaking but exhausting 16.5 mile trek from Dyffryn Ardudwy to Barmouth via Moelfre, Y Llethr, Diffwys and the southern Rhinogydd ridge. After Moelfre, climbed up via Moelyblithcwm then steeply up into cloud on the summit. After a short while the cloud lifted for awesome views, and a passing visit from a herd of very impressive goats. Sat and looked over the stupendous views to Rhinog Fawr and Fach for a while. Descended south, then followed the obvious path to Crib-y-Rhiw.thesweetcheat13/09/2022
Started walk from Parc Isaf campsite where we were staying and joined Nuttall walk 9.1 at the south. Completed the walk as per 9.1 then returned to campsite. Long tough walk with R took, 11.5 hours in total.Dan Baddeley27/08/2022

A rough descent from Rhinog Fach, and steep path to W avoids very craggy ridge, leads to almost flat grass summit.Minto31/05/2022

Started from the end of the minor road leading to Nantcol where a £3 fee is payable to the farmer. A Eleven mile route taking in Rhinog Fawr, Rhinog Fach, Y Llethr, Crib y rhiw, Diffwys and its west top, the first four miles is very tough taking us about four hours but once over Y Llethr it becomes easier with grass slopes and finishing in Eight hours total.WAYNE ROWLETT14/05/2022

With MS and JW. Via Foel Ddu, Rhinog Fawr, Rhinog Fach, Y Llethr, Diffwys. Clear weather, great views, long day.robertgn02/08/2021
After going over Rhinog Fach, continued from Llyn Hywell up very steep slopes on to Y Llethr, very unassuming hilltop, small cairn can be easily missed. Returned by route up to Llyn Hywel then went left (east) over the wall to descend towards Llyn Bi, picked up a sketchy path, lost the way a little, headed back uphill north west then north east following the line of walls, awkward descent over uneven ground to pick up the forestry trail, two miles from our start point at Graigddu-isaf.Marksalop01/08/2021
11am after dropping down to the lake at the col to refill both my water bottles. Now really hot.vegibagger21/07/2021

2/3 Both Rhinogs and Moelfre after sleeping at Cwm Bychan in van. Lowering cloud and windy at first, sunny and still later. Beautiful route and area. Time includes 30min cycle from Cwm Bychan to Pentre Gwynfryn. Rounsfell19/06/2021

from Rhinog Fach. then on to Diffws and back to Cwm Nantcol. If driving in to Cwm Nantcol, best to go from Llanbedr, as route from Dyffryn Ardudwy involves opening and closing 6 gates!IanHHill09/10/2020

Overcast ascent from wild camp at Llyn Hywell of Rhinog Fach (712m), followed by ascent of Y Llethr (756m) with cloud base now above the peak. Followed ridge southwards to Crib-y-rhiw (681m), Diffwys (750m), and Diffwys West Top (643m) in growing sunshine but continuing strong cold winds. Descended north to Pont-Scethin, a climb over the saddle between Moelfre Y Llethr, and down into Cwm Nantcol. Another pathless ascent to the col between Foel Ddu and Rhinog Fawr before final descent via Gloyw Lyn to Cwm Bychan. 20Km, 993m ascent, 1393m descent.VirtualMountain19/09/2020
