7.7 mile out-and-back from Graigddu-Isaf car park east. We followed well waymarked paths to Bwlch Drws-Ardudwy then ascended north-east pathless flanks to summit. Very rough through heather and rocks until we joined the path on the last part of the ascent. The Weather on top wasn't in our favour today; as soon as we got to the top the summit went into cloud with only slight glimpses of the view south and east. Descended the same way but detoured to see the pretty Pistyll Gwyn in the forest on way back. 594m ascent.DanTrig08/07/2022
Straight up from Bwlch Drws-Ardudwy, following the Cambrian Way path out east, to avoid worst of roughness.Minto31/05/2022
Started from the end of the minor road leading to Nantcol where a £3 fee is payable to the farmer. A Eleven mile route taking in Rhinog Fawr, Rhinog Fach, Y Llethr, Crib y rhiw, Diffwys and its west top, the first four miles is very tough taking us about four hours but once over Y Llethr it becomes easier with grass slopes and finishing in Eight hours total.WAYNE ROWLETT14/05/2022

parked on roadside before Cil-chychwyn. walked through Cwm Nantcol up path to Bwlch Drws-Ardudwy. turned right past Llyn Cwmhosan, then left up to ridge at top. Decent to Llyn Hywel was mainly on backsides down boulder field. Return to start via Llyn Perfeddau and disused tip. Lovely, brilliant walk.gbeniston22/03/2022
Parked at the end of the road at Cwm Nantcol (£3 donation to the farmer). Followed the track to the stile N of Llyn Cwmhosan, crossed the stile and up to the little Llyn. Dropped down beyond, and missed the path going off left above the gully, regaining the path later. On to where a cairn marks the path ascending the hill, and doubling back to the N end of the ridge. Continued along the ridge to the summit cairn. Descended along the wall to a stile, again missing the path amongst boulders, eventually regaining the path above Llyn Hywel. Good path descending to the Llyn, and back as we'd come.LizH06/03/2022

From the cairn on the summit of Bwlch Drws-Ardudwy, extremely steep start, became a pleasant clear path higher uo, visited north top before main summit. Good weather with some haze obscuring views to northern Snowdonia and the Lleyn. Descended to Llyn Hywel then continued to Y Llethr.Marksalop01/08/2021
06.52 First actually saw the sun as it popped it's head over the top of Rhinog Fach. As I walked on forwards it promptly disappeared again. Found a two Euro coin on the grass at SH 652 267, finally saw sun again at 07.20,   disappeared again at 07.25. Out again at 07.30 07.44 ate 28 bilberries then ate 14 more. Sun hid again at 08.00 or again at 08.05.  Hide again 08.20.  Peepo sun again 08.50 @600metres 09.22 summit Rhinog Fach 712m 21/7/21vegibagger21/07/2021

Followed ridge southwards to Crib-y-rhiw (681m), Diffwys (750m), and Diffwys West Top (643m) in growing sunshine but continuing strong cold winds. Descended north to Pont-Scethin, a climb over the saddle between Moelfre Y Llethr, and down into Cwm Nantcol. With Arthog outdoor centre group (instructor Dave and 10 students). Started from end of road near Graigddu-isaf. Follow tracks through forest towards Bwlch Drws-Ardudwy. After emerging from forest, took a route up the mountain following a path through grassy rakes. From summit, descended east along wall to reach corner of forest, and back to minibus along tracks. Excellent weather. Dry and mostly sunny. 5 hours.jamessteel10003/07/2019

Approach from east to Bwlch Drws-Ardudny (initially on good forest tracks - some signage). Visited Rhinog Fawr then Rhinog Fach. Very impressive hills with a character of their own. Good summit views, but mist prevented clear distant views - could just make out the sea.ger27/02/2019

Staight up very steeply from cairn at top of Bwlch Drws Ardudwy . Followed by herd of mountain goats who stopped every time I did like in a game. Don't know what they wanted but they gave up the chase after a while. Still tough but much easier on a path than Fawr earlier. Over 6 hours to do the two hills- very slow going.Mark Sims01/09/2017
Rhinog Fawr, Rhinog Fach, Y Llethr, Crib-y-rhiw, Diffws, Diffws West Top. Followed route in Nuttall's book. Couldn't find anyone at the farm so I left £2 parking fee in the porch. Weather had closed in by the end and it was a long day, made the mistake of following the bridleway at GR634240 on the map instead of getting The Nuttalls book out of my rucksack! Should have turned off at GR 640242 and headed for the gate at GR637246.tsharp07/06/2017
