From large parking area just before bungalow outside Cynwyd: Bryn-llus; Pen Creigiau'r Barcut; Moel Fferna; Cerrig Coediog; Pen y lladron; Moel yr Henfaes. Sweltering day, for which we were ill prepared without sufficient water or suncream. Visited Liberty Hall but omitted the last 2 peaks we planned. Welcome meal at the Blue Lion at the end of the walk.Lazylizzie13/05/2023

Parked in the layby on the B4401 at Cynwyd. Through the village, over the river and took the path to 055403, along the minor road then the track all the way up to just before the memorial stone at 091367, then over then fence and up to the summit. Followed the footpath along the fence all the way to Moel Fferna bagging the Simm of Cefn Perfedd and the Dewey of Cerrig Coedig on the way. Back down Moel Ferna to pick up the North Berwyn Way back to Cynwyg.12.67 miles. Fine walk.JulieB02/10/2022

From Cerrig Coediog. Long walkout on RoW to Cynwyd. KeithByTheC02/10/2022
Second hill after Moel yr Henfaes. Saw a chap at the summit shelter, he was the only person I saw all day. That's the last of the Berwyn's done for me hill bagging wise.simocity06/06/2022

Great walk up from the lovely village of Cynwyd to Pen Bwlch Landrillo Top and Moel Fferna with Jess, never saw one person all day, very remote place if you like quiet walks.Buckleymon08/04/2022

Limited parking at road end Ceiriog valley, nice valley and waterfalls to north, then indistinct path and bog, good track, overgrown path in heather, final track churned up by 4x4 drivers who no doubt deposited all the cans and bottles. Suprisingly great views - Wirral and off shore windfarm. Continued to Bwlch Llantysilio.Nick Canute06/03/2022

Indifferent day for weather. From forest above Cynwyd over Moel Fferna, Cefn Perfedd and Moel yr Henfaes. Contrary to map initial track towards Moel Fferna continues past forest edge to top of ridge, cut off it at an appropriate place. ridge path not up to much and descent track shown on map from near Moel yr Henfaes is in poor state, useful as a navigatiobn aid only.dickscroop14/12/2021
B4401 near Hendwr - Moel yr Henfaes (Nuttall) - Cefn Perfedd - Cerrig Coediog - Moel Fferna - Cynwyd.Mark Jackson26/10/2021
Nuttall walk 7.1Dan Baddeley10/10/2021
A Dewey walk from Cynwyd, but good to revisit a couple of Nuttalls enroute. A clockwise horseshoe around the valley of Afon Trystion visiting Bryn-llus, Pen Creigau’r Barcut, Moel Fferna, Cerrig Coediog, Cefn Perfedd, Moel yr Henfaes [Pen Bwlch Llandrillo Top], Y Drum and Moel yr Henfaes. 22.6km with 1000m ascent in 6h20m. From Llidiart y Parc then followed the North Berwyn Way to Vivod Mountain. Return via Moel Fferna Quarry. 13.6 miles. Brilliant weather and stunning views.Gwastadros30/06/2021
Long walk up from Coed y Glyn through forest, then moorland (grass, heather, bog).Taz3831/05/2021
Parked next to the shop in Cynwyd (no restrictions on sundays) and followed the Nuttall route East with a spur up to Liberty Hall to take in Bryn llus, from here I pressed on to Moel Fferna, along the ridge taking in Cerrig Coediog and Cefn Perfedd before arriving at the Nuttall top of Moel yr Henfaes, from here I followed the hills over Y Drum and the Dewey Moel yr Henfaes. If your lucky when striking out for the last top you'll walk over a grassy track heading North East which will take you back to Cynwyd forest albeit having to cross a grazing field at 07959 39525 to access the forest tracks that you follow left back to the car. Fourteen and half mile in Six and quarter hours.WAYNE ROWLETT09/05/2021
Path from forest to west. With Cerrig Coediog. With B and R.jenx22/09/2020
Afternoon hike. Really quiet area. Only seen one other person.Ant peters07/09/2020
The 8 summits around Cynwyd Forest anti-clockwise with Rufus. Parked at far end of reservoir and took forest track to open hillside, used a mixture of fences and rough tracks for navigation but plenty of the round is in deep heather. A good logical round for the northern Berwyn and took just over 4 hours at a fast pace - 16km 700m ascent.jacobrichmond01/09/2020

Up from bend in the track WSW. Shortcut through heather to save going on to the bwlch was silly. On to Cerrig Coediog.Eddie21/08/2018
From Cynwyd Forest to Moel Fferna and back along ridge to Pen Bwlch Llandrillo, and back down to Cynwyd Forest. Very hot day.Dewi Prysor27/07/2018
Pleasant walk on a hot day from Glyndyfrdwy, S on the North Berwyn Way to the ridgeline, then W on track to summit, descending more directly via the quarry and farm tracks. Surprised to meet several other walkers on this quiet hill.milimana06/06/2018
From a wild camp on Cadair Bronwen on a very hot Bank Holiday. Idled for a few hours by the cairn and was surprised not to see anyone. Beautiful hazy views back over the Berwyns. Descended the lovely Nant y Pandy valley to Glyndyfrwdwy.Jake99405/05/2018
Directly from Pen Creigiau'r Barcut, rough going in heather, bilberry, tussocks. Ground largely frozen and bitterly cold wind blowing. Continued to Cerrig Coediog.Aye Jimmy24/02/2018

Must do this one again as it feels far more remote than it is. We parked in the Ceiriog Forest and wended our way up the hill and then along the track to the peak. It was very dry but I suspect it is often boggygreboicus07/05/2017
10 hill circuit based around Cadiar Bronwen. Start and finish on a forestry track not far from Cynwyd. Fantastic, sunny Saturday with hardly anyone on the hills.BobHancock22/04/2017

Llangollen - Vivod Mountain - Moel Fferna circuit. Steam train from Carrog back to Llangollen with Dianne, Matt and Hamish & Huey the Springer Spaniels. Lovely sponge cake and tea at the station. Sunshine in the morning, torrential rain and thunderstorms in the afternoon. Slightly lost our way in woods on return so only 11.5 miles.Saggers05/02/2017
Done with keith, Olwynn and Bryan - from Pen Creigiau'r Barcut.Aimless Rambler28/10/2016
9.30 start on a morning that felt more like the height of summer than mid September. Parked just off the road about 1km from Plasnewedd and followed track to old quarry then through deep heather to path and summit. Descended NE ridge and bac k via quarry. Purple headed hills had me whistling All Things Bright and Beautiful on this glorious morning in a peaceful part of Wales.Wycombe Wanderer14/09/2016
