On Day trip to Rathlin climbed to the three abandoned wind turbines. Great island well worth a visit | Fergalh | 17/06/2023 |
Lighthouse bagging trip with Sarah and Bob Kerr and John Best, so didn't try either of the summits, but may well be back. Top class lighthouses. | Thearlaichdubh | 24/04/2019 |
Half-day trip with Adrian. Noticing the west summit also has a 130 contour on Openstreetmap I visited this as well. Unlike the E summit it has a shelter cairn (D 10651 52249) and a waymarked trail. Looked slightly lower than E summit. 1:25k OSNI map reported to have largeish 130m co but no spot ht. I'd recommend visiting both to be sure of the island HP. Views to Kintyre and (unexpected) Islay on a reasonably clear afternoon. We had 3 hours ashore, barely time enough for both summits; it's worth spending at least a day (seabird cliffs, 3 lighthouses etc). | RHW | 04/05/2015 |
