| first ascent, windy, showers then sunny. 2 in party, 22.1km. parked in lay-by just after the tunnel, went through gate and climbed up hill following a fence over rough ground to the summit of baureagh mtn. continued to killane mtn, returning over baurearagh mtn, the tunnel and up onto turners rock for lunch. followed way marked way markers to beara way, then steeply up hill to barraboys summit. great view point. descended and climbed up to barraboys se top. continued past lough nagarriva and up a large grassy re entrant to the summit of barraboy mtn far east, returned to the lough and descended rough ground through long grass, heather and reeds, boulders, then climbed up hill to meet a track on esk east followed the track back to esk west and the loop walk bak up onto the road and our car. | rum doodle | 02/08/2010 |
