Gyrn Moelfre [S3128] from GR: SJ 18128 30334ronaldo33310/02/2024
Parking at SJ188282. A tk, initially a RoW, starts up between the buildings of Moelfre Hall then goes R, then L, then up the E flank of the steep gully before switchbacking almost to the top (it is no more bulldozed than any other agricultural vehicle tk)Isbjorn06/02/2024

Ascent from Moelfre Barns car park (£5 honesty box) via the farm track which takes you to the summit (good surface, steep in places) with views improving all the way up. Fantastic viewpoint from the summit trig and small grassy platform. Despite strong winds we found a sheltered spot for flasks of coffee and enjoyed the solitude. Descent by same route. 5km up and down, 90 minutesCumbriancyclist25/09/2023

Parked at honesty box car park (£5 cash) at Moelfre Hall Barns and followed the winding track up and back to the trig point. Very hot but good views all round, if a little hazy. Solo.richard6911/06/2023
One space on road up to Pentre. Nice hill run in evening sun after a week of rain.davechaffey11/05/2023
Straight up and down the track from the honesty box car park at Moelfre Hall. Windy at the top but sunshine and passing showers gave lots of rainbows.prwild29/12/2022

As others, from Moelfre Hall.twg2724/06/2022
Anti clockwise circuit after paying £5 at the honesty box at Moelfre Hall. Followed bridleway for short way that cut up across fields to reach other bridleway higher on the east edge of the hill. After a few hundred metres cut up along ridge to summit. Descended bulldozed track to just before Moelfre and rejoined original bridleway just before returning to Moelfre Hall. Round trip of just under 4 miles.KevPalmer12/06/2022
Started from the parking area at Moelfre Hall which has an honesty box. Track up behind the hall is not a right of way, sign says no access. So I started NE on bridalway for 300m. Then over bridge and across field to join the uphill zig zag track.Minto29/05/2022

Started from the parking area supplied by Moelfre hall which has a honesty box and asks for five pounds, and used the track behind the hall which is not a right of way (but as I reluctantly paid the full asking price for the the car I felt justified in using it). Three mile in an hour and a half.WAYNE ROWLETT24/04/2022
Parked near the Moelfre holiday cottages and headed up the track. What marvellous views from here, one of my favourite peaks in the area. On for another 4 mile walk after as well.greboicus13/04/2022
Limited parking near Clyrun. Fenced in track with 2 escapee sheep which ran all way up hill ahead of me then back down again on return. On summit at 8.30 am, superb views. Trig was in early stages of love lock infection, but I used my medical training and a stone to restore health. Onward to Moel Ferna next.Nick Canute06/03/2022
From Moelfre Barns - great viewpoint but hazy today. Descended east and made circuit via Moeliwrch and Pentre. Solo.JohnIvor25/01/2022
As others from Moelfre Hall Barns. Then up track all the way to summit. Very pleasant hill. 2.9 miles easy walking. 1hr 10 moving time.JulieB29/12/2021
I paid my fiver and parked at the Moelfre hall barns and then just followed a good track all the way to the summit. A smattering of snow from around 350m upwards and superb summit views.Peterb28/11/2021

1/3 Dewey Day. Gyrn Moelfre from Moelfre Hall. Still (August 2021) large parking area at Moelfre Hall, but now charge of £5 (honesty box). Along bridleway, then up bulldozed MTB tracks direct the summit. Splendid all round view from the summit. A round trip of 5km with 300m ascent in just over an hour. (S)silveracorn_alan15/08/2021

Up through area set out for motor cross event. Walked up steep rubble track to higher level. Very hot and flies manic up by trig point. As well to stick with track unless really keen and love steep slopes! Great views.elizyanne02/08/2019

Ascended from Moelfre Hall up bulldozed track which I accessed by ROWs. Then finish up pastures to the excellent summit. The W slopes had been white from overnight hail, conditions which gave very clear distant views. Descended to Llangadwalader chapel; choice of gates to bridleway, messy diversion, then straight down field to gate. Met brother Pete by chapel- he'd driven round from Tynyffridd and bagged a Tump (which also had a messy diversion) rather than do this Ma again while I'd walked all the way, via Moel y Gwelltyn- a splendid walk in beautiful country.pwheeler04/05/2019
