Fabulous sunny day, blue skies, light (but cold) S wind; parked SH 753135, ran 2M down valley (mostly on good bridleway but 400m on road at bottom was lethal) to Minffordd Hotel, up Minffordd PathNorfolkPT2113/02/2023

Fantastic circular of Cadair Idris with Spoons, Clowes, Mini Spoons and MarzieRichieRambler30/04/2022
After a lovely day on Y Garn the day before, I was really looking forward to finally doing the 'classic' Cader Idris circuit. Unfortunately a cloudy start from Dolgellau had already turned wet by the time the bus dropped me at Minffordd. Views decreased and raindrops got steadily bigger as I reached Llyn Cau, but decided to carry on in hope of a break. Instead by the time I'd climbed the stair to the top of the cwm the rain was lashing and visibility had dropped to nothing much. At least this was an easy top after doing all the hard work. Carried on to Craig Cwm Amarch before turning back and descending back down the same way. Miserable!thesweetcheat08/11/2021

Poor conditions, gale force winds, bad visibility and very wet. Started off in Dôl Idris Car Park and followed the Minffordd Path (taking the right fork across the Nant Cadair) followed the path which was easy enough to follow, though steep and loose in places to Mynydd Moel, followed the path round to Cadair Idris before rejoining the Minffordd Path, slow going on the descent and not the easiest path to follow (and quite trecherous in the rain due to loose scree) from the summit but eventually found it and followed down to Craig Cwn Amarch and then Craig Lwyd. Steps in the wet were very polished but eventually got back to the car park in one piece.lboutside23/08/2020

Time 6 hours. Leading Robin, Sam, Katherina (preparing for MLT). Fine day. Good visibility throughout though increasing cloud mid afternoon and spot of rain. With Stig Nest. A wet and icky start to the day and almost zero vis by the summit of Craig Cau. But cleared amazingly before we left summit of penygadair. Walk out to myn Moel was therefor breathtaking. Descent back to the Myn path was in places pretty steep and rough. Would hate to go up this way.Laura.W22/06/2016
