Parked in the small car park by the A470 at Bwlch Oerwddrws (top of pass). First headed east up to bag Dewey Pen Ochr y Bwlch, then on to revisit the Nuttall Pen y Brynfforchog and its north top, which I missed previously. Then back to the pass for plenty of water. Then headed west over Cribin Fawr and on to revisit Craig Portas, along with a first visit to its East Top and Mynydd Dolgoed West Top, before returning to the pass. 16km with 1000m of ascent, taking 6h20m on a cloudless but very hot day, 31oC at the pass in the afternoon! | silverwolf_alan | 11/08/2022 |

Continued my morning walk over Glasgwym to A470 pass over the southern hills back to the car. Followed the old track to the quarry across the E face. Rough at first, then a perfect gradient to the ridge. | Minto | 30/05/2022 |

Route as per Maesglase | JulieB | 04/01/2022 |
South from car park on A470 at top of pass. Found a good path west of crags, in Scotland I would have called it a stalkers' path, all the way up to the wall, much shorter than the path to the east and easy going. Then along the wall over Cribin Fawr to Waun-oer, back a short way to drop easily down to forest track, followed to end and then an easy line back up to fence, Craig Portas and Maen Du. Dropped down to Penintag Uchaf and back on road.
Afternoon pleasant walk along the fences to Pen y Brynfforchog. | dickscroop | 11/11/2021 |
Corris Round | haydnw | 31/07/2021 |
Afternoon hike with my brother and his 3 children in >25° heat. Climbing from car park at Ochr y Bwlch to Cribin Fawr (659m), then making a dog-leg to Waun-oer (670m), before following horse-shoe ridge round to Maen Du (674m) on Maesglase. Descended to Dolobran. ~11Km with 790m ascent. | VirtualMountain | 17/07/2021 |
Up from A470 to Cribin Fach, Cribin Fawr & Waen Oer .. nice easy climb up and wander along the fence line at the top. Drop down then a short steep scrabble (not quite a scramble ;) up to Waen Oer. Down the same way. Clear sunny day over Snowdonia. Walked with Mark | RutheH | 19/06/2021 |

Second summit of the Nuttall Walk, very hot day. Met an 80 year old guy doing the Cambrian way. He reckoned the 250 mile walk would take a month, and he had 100 miles still to do. I found the climb up, very tiring. After walking down to the foot of Craig Portas decided not to continue. Suffering from overheating / dehydration and not a lot of water left. Begged some water from isolated house in the valley a mile of so from the car. Severely under estimated how hot it was going to be and the amount of water needed. | Malcvolm | 25/06/2018 |

12 Mile walk from top of pass, followed good path onto Cribin Fawr and its unmarked summit, then down and steeply up onto Waun-Oer and its trig, back onto Cribin Fawr, down fenceline and along hillside path to Mynydd Dolgoeds featureless summit, then nice ridge walk onto another two featureless summits, Craig Portas and its East Top, then onto the big bulk of Maesglase to its cairned top, we then walked back to Cribin Fawr and down to the pass, after a break, steeply ascended Pen Ochr Y Bwlch and its unmarked top, then up onto Pen Y Brynfforchog where we tried to rebuild the fallen down pile of stones on top, returned to the pass, mostly sunny with the odd cloud banks touching the surrounding summits. | DanTrig | 06/07/2016 |

Nuttall Walk WN 10.3 West of Dinas Mawddwy from Aberllefenni. Mynydd Ceiswyn, Waun-oer, Cribin Fawr, Craig Portas and Maesglase. 20.4km with 1170m ascent in 7h15m. (S) | silveracorn_alan | 29/03/2016 |
Car park almost full early on a Wednesday morning in March? People on the hill taking photos of low flying jets. Whatever floats yer boat. Took the direct route past the quarry and along the ridge to nondescript summit, then down and steeply up to Waun-oer. | Campbell Singer | 16/03/2016 |
Heavy morning rain slow to clear replaced by gradually clearing skies with good visibility. Strong wind became stronger almost blowing me off my feet on many occasions. Parked in car park near 363m spot height on A470. Cribin Fawr->Waun-oer->Craig Portas->Craig Portas East Top->Maesglase->Maesglase (old GR) - Maen Du. Only 7.83 miles but comparatively a lot of ascent at 964m. No wonder felt tired on final walk back to van along A470 from Penantigi Isaf. Better to park near milepost to reduce final walk back to van. | mntainman | 09/03/2016 |
With Penda, from car park on A470. CF to W to M and back. Long flog over boggy ground on way to M. 1230-1715. Trip enlivened by lots of Red Kites. Only saw one other person in distance. | beorwulf | 19/09/2015 |
