From E. Parked at SH831103. Tarmac, 1 in 5, no passing places, to SH815105 (parking). RoW, SW, to forest gate at SH806099. TR, SE, 150m, then up SE ridge in multiple deep MTB and MX ruts (climb soon before it is totally trashed) (NB Do not take the 1st green swarth up after the gate, it is the landing place for airborne kamikaze MTB bodies). Thought this was better than starting from the W, parking in the tiny turning point at the Aberllafenni road end, and then having to ford riversIsbjorn02/02/2024
As others from forest track to NE. Up to gate and follow path up to trig and top. Back via Fedw-lwyd and Mynydd Tri Arglwydd.PeterD03/09/2023

Straightforward up the forestry track, then the right hand farm track to gate and on to the summit.Peterb02/07/2023

Parked at the forest track. Walk about 150 metres and take the path to the right. Up through the gate. Stick with the hill be following path round it. As you come up and have almost gone 180 degrees from the starting direction you’ll spot the trig point. Follow the natural moat round to the far side. Life will be easier! Enjoyed the view on a hot day with Gmac xelizyanne08/07/2022

As others from end of forestry track. Only 1 fallen tree easily negotiated. Pleasant walk through forest and up to summit on good path all the way. Pleasant summit if the weather had been better. With KeithbytheC. 100th HuMP for the year and 1/2 way Welsh Marilyn.JulieB30/12/2021
Parked at 814105. Easy ascent along good forest trail, then swung round summit clockwise on path up easier slopes to w of summit to avoid brutal ascent up southeast face. KeithByTheC30/12/2021
Like most, parked at end of forestry track on minor road near Twll y Gasail. Up quiet track (NB!), charming path out of forest and up thin path slanting across steep S slope. Enjoyable top on a quiet, sunny day though in places routes are very eroded. Back down SW ridge to avoid steepest ground.pwheeler15/07/2021
P @ 814105 - good forest track - nice little hill - good views.ger01/07/2021

With Gareth - parked at end of forestry track on minor road (near Twll y Gasail) Not far to the summit and trig but captivating. We continued along the grassey ridge to Fedw Iwyd & Mynedd Esgailiau finding the ruin of Esgailiau beyond. After a bit of wandering find the path down to Aberllefenni. Interesting quarry workings and restored quarry office. We linger following Cycle Route 8 up road as far \crach Fynydd - then path down opposite side of Cwm Hen-gae past Hen-gae (with its magnificent Wellingtonia) and back through the old quarry workings to the village. From here we followed road back to the car - Very Quiet - too quiet?briandavies20/03/2020

Easy enough once I took the correct forest track. Should have paid more attention.NormanW12/03/2020
Short morning walk from Layby/track as others. Dull forest but Summit is a nice promontory with lovely trig point.N.Morters24/01/2020
Track from ENE, minor approach roads OK, and track now cleared of wind throw and strew. NE face covered in nice berries but steep, used katoolahs, and there is an awkward loose fence crossing.Topographer5727/08/2019

Skirted above wind blown trees and back to path. Followed path to high point then steeply up bank. Descended more easily south to SH 80566 09575 then return by outward route.Lionel Bidwell26/03/2018

Parked at SH814105 then followed upper forest track SW until area of wind throw blocking the track mentioned by Gill. Chose to pass above this onto open hillside where most of the mess has been cleared. Crossed the fence then straight up the side to summit avoiding the worst of the trail bike damage. Descended steeply SE before entering forest at gate and return by same route.Ian Baines13/03/2018

An interesting walk on the usual forestry track. An area of wind throw has blocked the track, good because trail bikes can't use it any more, and baggers can dodge round below it. Despite this, the trail bikes come from the other side, and the knobhead riders seem to think it clever to ride up the steep hillside to the summit, and strew litter around. Grr. Lovely hill, but hard to enjoy through a red mist.Gill16/02/2018
From SH 814105 then via SH 806096 then doubled back to climb steepest section. Operated ham radio from summit for SOTA.G4OBK (Phil)13/01/2018

Easy parking at the end of the forest track to the NE. Once out of the forest a path winds around and then it is easy to pick a route to the top. Picked up a lot of other people's recent litter - you don't need to be a PI to work out it was recent given the eat by date on the M&S melon slices packet.Father Ted06/10/2017
