Summit cairn was our first checkpoint on Day2 of Black Mountains OMM, after a cold numbing overnight camp. Ran most of way up here from start wearing every stitch of clothing I had until warmed up eg 2 base layers, fleece jacket, 2 hats, cag with hood up, long johns, overtousers. Usual wet cold fell shoes from yetsterday. V strong Cold NW wind but crystal clear and sunny. Very exciting plummet next steeply down off escarpment to next checkpoint at crag bottom. Then slanting climb to Gospel Pass and many points east and south on 5 hour day 2 of Medium Score with Darren. | Chris Pearson | 28/10/2018 |
