Parked in layby next to Talybont reservoir, did a loop going up to Bryn, then along to Waun Rydd before decending via Allt Lwyd. Very soft underfoot, foggy and windy, no views but a good day out. | lboutside | 16/03/2024 |

Loop from Blaen-y-Glyn waterfalls upper carpark - Pant Y Creigiau, Bryniau Gleision and Allt Lwyd. Heading up directly from valley south. path sort of there, but mainly just pushing through bracken and heather - steep route, would not really recommend | chelec | 17/06/2023 |

From car park on the Tal y Bont reservoir, followed Nuttall's route over Allt Lwyd. As others have noted some welcome path improvements on the upper part. Top in cloud as was the ridge and route to Carn Pica and Waun Rydd. Came out of the cloud descending to Twyn Du. Remember backpacking over the Waun Rydd ridge many years ago on a vague path through muddy peat hags - much improved today. Wind and showers all afternoon. With Gillian | richard69 | 31/12/2022 |
From the parking area next to Talybont reservoir, following the Nuttals route over Allt Lwyd. Filthy weather, gales and rain, but the visibility did clear on the way back across the summit plateau. 10.75km | Rockdoctor | 30/12/2022 |
From Talybont reservoir car park to ENE good path to top with path improvements taking place near top. On to Waun Rudd and back down over Allt Forman. | PeterD | 22/11/2022 |
Up and back from the parking area at 099196. Path is being improved near the top. A big climb for a single Nuttall, but it was my last one in this area. | Mark Jackson | 30/10/2022 |

Parked at Talybont Reservoir parking near the base of the bridleway and walked up it along a well defined path to the summit. Fine as an up and back, but better to combine with Waun Rydd and make more of a day of it. | JazDisney | 31/07/2021 |
Circular hike from Talybont Reservoir dam - Allt Lwyd - Craig y Fan - Carn Pica - Waun Rydd - Rhiw Bwlch y Ddwyallt - Gist Wen - Cefn y Bryn - Pen y Bryn (cairn marker on top) - Talybont Forest - Pwyll y Hwyaid (Usk Valley Walk route) - Aber - Reservoir dam.

Parking: By Talybont Reservoir dam, LD3 7YS. Alternatively, there's parking south-west of the dam. This is almost opposite to the foot of Allt Lwyd. | manilena | 02/07/2021 |
