An easy walk from the NT car park. Path through the woods to the summit ridge is a bit of a motorway but in good shape. The summit ridge is horribly damaged by the passage of thousands of feet, but the views are fabulous.Gill25/02/2018
a stroll up from the car park on a wet blustery day. The Singing Kettle cafe just 80 yards from the car park does a great egg and bacon sandwich.Lou10/02/2018
Straightforward up from the visitors car park, but walked round the hill on the way back which was ok but very soggy and muddy underfoot. Easier and nicer to just go back same way probably!nickywood128/11/2017

Repeat from the same CP to south, now National Trust improved with pay and display :-( Luckily used our NT membership to avoid the toll. Shorter approach route from the north, starting at SO 33947 19314. Just about parking for one on corner opposite Pen-y-parc. Fairly gentle ascent (to start)easy path to follow through gorse as rate of ascent increases. Very steep descent down NE corner, to ensure circular route, then on to Pant-y-tyle before returning to Pen-y-parc along roadSteveSmith06/01/2016

7/7 Last one of day, decided to get up and dwon quick so approcahed from north up steep side. Tough climb and even more difficult descent. Wonderful views due to elevationFergalh24/01/2015
The provision of car park makes this very popular. Fog hadn't cleared but it may almost be worth coming back to do again judging by the slopes either side of the path. Afterwards, we went on to look at Myarth, which didn't look very user friendly, so we went home. 9 ticks in three days but the best bit was Skenfrith Castle and Church.mindlessflogger04/01/2015
From National Trust parking area on B4521 Old Ross Road near Abergavenny (SO 32883 16416). Steepish ascent through wooded area then easy walk along the ridge to the summit. Clear paths throughout.david23020125/09/2014
Very muddy, glutinous, the lower parts of the path had been churned up by walkers after a wet spell. It was far worse today than 4 days earlier when we climbed the lower slopes in the pouring rain. The rain had washed away loose mud and the surface was reasonably firm and not churned up.Malcvolm27/05/2014
