In the snow. Beautiful morning. With Delilahsimonjallen02/02/2024
From NT car park (cash: £2/2 hours or £4 longer) with Shaky on a clear day. Paths only slightly muddy & the walk along the top ridge was cracking. Shaky spotted the Welsh phrase cut into the bracken on side of Bryn Arw across the valley. Summit is a good viewpoint. Back same way & then on to Allt yr Esgair.NotReallyABagger30/01/2024
As others, parked at the NT car park (members free) to the S and took the path up and along the ridge to the top. Cloudy with a cold wind on the ridge and some views W towards the Black Mountains. With Gillian.richard6904/11/2023

Myself, my sons Eoin and Tiarnán, started on the southern face at the National Trust carpark (as others have suggested). Steady chug up the main trail, good views at each rest stop. Summit gives beautiful views across southern Wales. Descent down northeast face, very steep, not advisable. Then round western flank, heard cuckoo calling and smelt hawthorn. Return to carpark for food and rest.Pete West28/05/2023

Dropped off by the rest of our party at the car park; funnily enough no takers for the walk to the top - it was raining! The rain soon cleared and the views from the top were excellent as a result. Easy navigation, quite a few people on the hill - up and down in an easy 1hr 30 mins; well worth the effort.JOHNS10/10/2020

The provision of car park makes this very popular. Fog hadn't cleared but it may almost be worth coming back to do again judging by the slopes either side of the path. Afterwards, we went on to look at Myarth, which didn't look very user friendly, so we went home. 9 ticks in three days but the best bit was Skenfrith Castle and Church.mindlessflogger04/01/2015

Approached from small car park to south, on B4521. Path well marked. One very slippy muddy corner above forest on final ascent to south end of ridge. Ridge is exposed to cold winds.nddavies22/01/2011

Start at small parking area on B4521 immediately due south of the southern point of the ridge. Steady climb to highest point at northern most point of the ridge. Stoney track along ridge. Western slope very steep sided. Enjoyable walk, great views all aroPeapod2120/06/2009
