7/7. Parked at 4way road junction to the SW and followed the Beacons Way across the fields and through the wood before heading up towards the trig. Hp is fortunately the NW side of a newish bwf by the trig point so no need to cross. Dry but cold and clear dusk ascent and dark descent. Solo | richard69 | 01/12/2023 |
As Tribal2er. | JGC | 17/10/2023 |
Parked at entrance to holiday home, space for a couple of cars here, up gravel track to corner of forest then follow stone wall to trig at top, hopped one easy BWF, didn't bother with the BWF to get to trig | Tribal2er | 03/06/2023 |
From the Carn Goch car park over said hill first and then up past Garn-wen and followed track/FP to gate then up by fence in the snow to trig and HP. Also went to large cairn to NE. Good views across to snow covered Brecon Beacons. | PeterD | 20/01/2023 |

Parked at the end of the public road at Blaen Llynnant, then along the track to Bwlch y Gors & then over fields to the summit & trig. BWF between the two!! | DanMaisieBex | 11/09/2022 |
From highest point on cul-de-sac Road from South at entrance to Blaen-Llynan cottages, waiting for another lull in the rain. Grabbed it. Up track to col to the west. Then easily up the fields into the thin mist again.
Four Welsh Marilyns still unclimbed. | vegibagger | 18/06/2022 |
1 of 4 Marilyn's and 1 Hewitt for the day. With KeithByTheC. Parked at road junction before holiday cottages at 698212. Followed track then footpath through 2 gates, then sheep tracks to summit. 2.25 miles under 1hr. | JulieB | 07/10/2021 |
From verge parking by road junction at 695216. Up good track through gate on to access land, then up faints path staright ahead before a short steeper section of rough pasture. Trig over barbed wire is lower than HP on access land. | KeithByTheC | 07/10/2021 |

Verge parking at 695216, up road to turning circle then short walk to top. It snowed so a bit wet back at van. | NormanW | 25/02/2020 |
2/6 From road to S. Breezy and overcast but pleasant. Did not cross BWF as high point not trig. Could have touched trig over fence anyway. | Rounsfell | 08/02/2020 |
After a very wet day the weather finally started to clear up late afternoon. I parked to the south west at point 287 and headed along the Beacons Way to the woods. I saw plenty of wildlife; Ravens, Crows, Linnets, Wheatears, Meadow Pipits, Skylarks and Swallows. Once through the woods I headed up alongside the wall that climbed to the summit. I arrived on the highest point the opposite side to the trig. I did visit the trig after impaling my hand on the barbed wire fence and squirting blood everywhere. Lesson learnt. The views were limited by the cloud. However the Tywi valley with its castles and forts could be seen as well as Llandeilo. I could also see the outliers of the Black Mountain although the higher peaks were shrouded in cloud. Returned by the same route. Time 1 hour 12 minutes for 3.34 miles. | isabelle | 28/08/2019 |

From road junction at 695216 (1 car). Track to intersection with Beacons Way, then straight up ridge. Hot, overcast, and great views. | iangalbraith | 17/07/2018 |
3/4 Marilyn day. The ascent of Trichrug via Carn Goch from car park at SN 682 243. A round trip of 8km in 2h10m. (S) | silveracorn_alan | 12/05/2018 |
A nice walk along the track starting below Blaen Lynnant and then up the N side of the wall. Best park on the road verge W of the junction leading to the track. | Gill | 22/02/2018 |
A 4.5 mile circular walk from the Garn Goch carpark over the two hill forts, up the Beacons way to Bwlch y Gors, a there and back up to the summit of Trichrug and then back to the car via Cwmdu. A really lovely walk. With Keith and wee Ross. | islamidget | 27/08/2017 |
From Garn Goch carpark. Up and over the fort then the green lane before go direct steeply up between cairn and trig. A super spot which gives even better views than expected. This was the fourth time I'd planned on walking this hill- numerous issues had prevented me reaching it before so a particularly satisfying outing. First of four evening Marilyns none of which were particularly close to one another.. | stig_nest | 05/08/2017 |
Walked up from the entrance to the forestry at Bwlch y Gors. Easy short walk with excellent views and a rainbow over the nearby cairn! | Neolith | 20/07/2017 |
2.9 mile walk from minor road east of Carn Goch, walked up Beacons Way then followed fence line steeply up to Trichrug, had to climb over 1 new barbed wire fence just in front of trig unfortunately, back down same way then up onto Carn Goch. Nice weather high cloud and strong wind. Earlier that day did an 11 mile walk on Cefn Y Cylchau, Garreg Las, Foel Fraith, Garreg Lwyd and Carn Pen-Rhiw-Ddu. | DanTrig | 15/04/2017 |
Parked outside church 696212. Followed road and paths before climbing to summit. | Hippy77 | 13/02/2017 |
Off road parking on corner of road and public access track (SN 69482 21589). Continued north on track past Blaen-Llynnant to to 336m spot height then over style and leave track to the right up north side of wall to summit.. Highest point is this side of wall though had to climb over brand new barb wire fence to stand next to trig point. Returned by the same route. | mntainman | 25/11/2016 |
Tried driving up the track a bit to cords given in previous logs but it was a bit rough for my car and there was no obvious parking with tractors working today. Instead parked at the road junction at SN 6947 2158 and walked up the track from there. Went east up the hill from where the Brecon Way meets the track. One BWF to top and another to the trig itself. | Father Ted | 16/11/2016 |
With K. M and RM stayed by car. From W; summit line is hampered by fences/walls. Great view. | Ashley | 02/06/2016 |
Drive from Ystalyfera via Mountain Road (A4069) to car park for Carn Goch. From there, a walk made beautiful by early evening light. Out by field paths to Bwlch y Gors, up Pen y Bicws to the top. Fine views, especially of the hill fort which I walked over on the way back (via Garn Wen). The hill fort section was the highlight of the day- could have spent longer here, but I didn't finish until 1910 hrs anyway. Must say the view from Trichrug over to the Carmarthen Fan and below over pastures and farmland to Carmarthen Castle and beyond was excellent too. 4th Ma of day, each better than the last- this one gives a very good walk. | pwheeler | 26/04/2016 |
#578 From the Carn Goch CP, along the Beacons Way. | tim747 | 23/04/2016 |
Climbed the hill via Carn Goch- a most impressive late iron age hill fort site. Trichrug itself was pleasant enough, though suffering from a decoration of barbed wire fences at the top. My first ascent was actually back in 1971 or '72 on a trip to Pen Arthur with school! | Cas-gwent | 21/04/2016 |
Parked by cattle grid to the North. Short on time, so jogged as much as I could. Fine views on top. | huwthomas | 28/03/2016 |
Walked from SN 6935 2211 as the track was too rough for a normal ride height car to go any further. Easy navigation to the summit from there. Operated SOTA on VHF in the dark as it was after sunset when we got there. | G4OBK (Phil) | 09/12/2015 |
2/4 Quick walk along wall to top fine views trig pillar and cairn to be seen...what more can one want on a sunny day | Fergalh | 06/09/2015 |
Parked at gate when road started to get rough -693219. Track against wall to the summit. 40 minutes with GB. | bolton | 28/07/2015 |

From SW with Trefor. Up track then grassy walk to summit with wall and fence to cross. Beautiful clear sunny April day. 3rd and last peak of the day | mike.hoult | 22/04/2015 |
Parked at the Carn Goch car park. After the impressive hill forts used the Breacons way to get to the top. Beware yappy dogs at Garn Wen farm. Back via Gurnos farm for a pleasant short walk. | mindlessflogger | 17/04/2014 |
From Carn Goch car park, E over the 2 IA hill forts, then S to Trichrug. Return W then NW via Gurnos. Pleasant 5 mile circular walk. | jonglew | 30/12/2013 |

Bethlehem walk | Hetty | 18/12/2011 |
Up Beacon's Way then steep but to yourself. | Eddie | 25/02/2011 |
Parked to north at end of public road and took Beacon Way to path junction. Then followed wall to summit. Nasty wall/fence to cross to access trig but top is on north side. Climbed wall to access ancient cairn. | chriswatson | 09/11/2010 |
