Parked Cruachan Station. Walked to reservoir, then directly ascended Beinn a' Bhuiridh which was steep up and steep down the other side. Main path to Stob Garbh, Stob Daimh. Out and back to Sron an Isean. Main path to Drochaid Ghlas and then Ben Cruachan, Cloud cleared on arrival, only person all day to see the views! Added on Stob Dearg [Taynuilt Peak] due to the good conditions. Contoured back to the path and summited Meall Cuanail before dropping back to the reservoir. All summits clear, spectacular views throughout. Solo. | meltdiceburg | 18/09/2022 |
Staying at the OMC Cottage, on Friday a few of us visited the Ben Cruachan Power Station (the hollow mountain).

On Saturday we headed up the Ben Cruachan horseshoe for Louise Waters last Munro.
14 folk set off including two who had never done a munro before. We started from Falls of Cruachan station, up to the dam then around the east shore and up to the Saddle north of the Corbett. Ascending Stob Garbh first. Then Stob Daimh, I nipped over to Sron an Isean. Then rejoined the main group on Stob Daimh again. Two folk turned back from here. Then over Drochaid Ghlas and up to Ben Cruachan (Louise's finale), which had been covered in mist most of the day. One guy joined us on the summit. No views on top of Ben Cruachan but plenty of champagne and Cranachan.

We descended straight down to the reservoir and rejoined the outward route, 09:50hrs all in. | chillyman8 | 17/09/2022 |
With Moira and OMC party for Louise's Munro compleation from Falls of Cruachan station. Anticlockwise ridge walk over Stob Diamh | ColB | 17/09/2022 |
A big day doing the most of the Cruachan massif. Roadside parking at Cruachan Falls. Straight up the steep tiny track to the hydro access road, then to the dam and along the track on RHS up to Lairig Toran. Then followed a grassy rake up the steep the Corbett, Beinn a'Bhiridh, back the same way to re-join the main track up to Stob Garb, and (Munro) Stob Daimh. Next branched off east to bag Sron an Isean, and back west along the main ridge to Drochaid Glas, and the main Munro Ben Cruachan (last climbed with Victor in 1976). Out and back to Stob Dearg, before a diversion off the principal route down to bag another MT, Meall Cuanail, on the way down. Altogether 21km with over 2000m ascent taking 11 hours. | silveracorn_alan | 27/08/2022 |

On own. After rain all week the day was sunny and clear giving fantastic views throughout this tough walk. Parked just beyond Falls of Cruachan railway station. Walk started with a brutal lung busting ascent directly up through the woods beside Allt Cruachan which does not relent until reaching the dam road. Then up onto dam wall via metal staircase and along road on west side of Cruachan Reservoir. From end of road, after crossing stream, ascended via Coire Dearg to bealach with small lochan. Final ascent was up S ridge and tricky boulder field to summit. Return same route. | Beeliner | 07/09/2019 |

From station near Lack Awe Visitor Centre - a brutal ascent directly up through the woods which does not relent until near the top, just below the dam, then via Coire Dearg and Bealach an Lochain - final ascent was up S ridge - a very fine example of nature's rubble tip of left over boulders | Isbjorn 3rd Round | 13/05/2019 |

From power station, up path to dam, west side of reservoir and up path to saddle, up Meall Cuanaill, back to saddle and up rocky slope to top. Carried on over Drochaid Ghlas and Sto Diamh. Too tired for Beinn a'Bhuiridh. | Flatfield | 04/09/2018 |
Second ascent this time fromm west over the lower tump summits and meet a guy on summit with both of us concerned about our one way traverses and query about long way back to our cars. Quickly came to conclusion we could swap car keys. In the end he just gave me his keys (smart newish BMW) and I drove his car five miles west to the hotel where he came down to, and then he drove me to my car. Fabulous bit of instant trusting cooperation from strangers. | vegibagger | 25/05/2018 |
