With Sue from Blindcrake, parked car just of village and followed BP to top and small cairn in the grass and Tump. Return to start same way.Frank27/02/2023
Ascent with Jayne and Summer from Blindcrake following route described in Wanwright's Outlying Fells. 3.85 miles with 155m of ascent in 1hr:40mins with 1hr:26mins moving time. Clint's Crag is not highest point of the fell. Path indistinct in most places and very muddy. Lot of sheep in fields.pwhitaker_196621/02/2023

Parked on side of the road on hill just before the footpath. Then a straight run up the track and field to the WO summit. Couldn't see an obvious way over the fences to the tump so more research required. Continued on to Willie Whites Well and then came back on the parallel footpath into the centre of the village. Paths ranged from very soggy to boot eating quagmire....ytfckent02/02/2023
With Jo and Ernie, pretty boring walkstuduncan07/08/2022
Parked in the centre of Bindcrake. Followed AWs route . The cows were not bothered. We had spendid views.RowanP16/09/2021
Followed AWs route. Careful navigation needed. Easy going up to Clints Crags, not easy to follow on way back. Lots of nosy cows in the fields.Nick09/09/2021
Parked in Blindcrake village then easy path to Wainwright top then onto highest point.Alan Caine10/07/2021
From Blindcrake reversing Wainwright route but went a bit off piste after Thackery Cottage checking out other potential high points before picking up the Wainwright summit.SS09/07/2021

We parked in the village Blindrake, headed north out of the village and took a bridle path at Allison house farm. Past the quarry and over a fence or 2 to the summit, following a circuit back to the village on the other side of Thackray wood. With Richie.Zoe Little07/10/2020
Parked in Blindcrake, and took the path up to Alisson House Farm to Wainwright top, then climbed over collapsed barb wire fence to true summit. Walked SE to Thakray cottage, Thakray wood and path to village. Beware of aggressive cows!Lazylizzie27/09/2020

From the north east (177 364) along old lane. Became very wet and boggy (especially near Willie White's Well). The limestone escarpment - north of Thackray Cottage - is well worth exploring (take care).DABT26/08/2020
Just a quick out and back from Blindcrake before the heavens opened.Chipstertrain16/06/2020
Clints Crags, Wainwright and Tump, using footpath from Blindcrake. Parked just up the hill by a grit bin.PGCE10/06/2020
Managed to squeeze the car tight into the fence at the start of the footpath. Obvious route from here.moorsman18/10/2019
From church at Isel Bridge, followed footpath via Hunter How, and then road to Sunderland. Footpath up to Willie White’s Well and along ridge to Clints Crags. Return Allison House Farm, Blindcrake, Gill Wood and Isel Hall.raymooremanx17/03/2019
Started the 2019 evening walks early as couldn't wait any longer. Left work at 3pm, so took flexi and did this with Deb. A very small one but made it longer into a 5 mile walk. what a beautiful evening walk. A little boggy/muddy in places, but there were no cows, but lots of sheep.jonesj222/02/2019

From Blindcrake in the dark. Wet and muddy RoW, then wet and muddy cattle pasture. Couldn't see the point of the Wainwright summit - probably due to lack of light. On to the tump summit, a pronounced hillock some 400m NE.jonglew13/12/2017

Sadly, Wainwright's route is an ordeal of mud and barbed wire. The only redeeming feature is the view down the length of Bassenthwaite Lake.Nick Down115/10/2017
Solo. Covered in cows. Quite the most horrible WO, what was he thinking about?simon and co09/10/2017
WOs 52,53,54,55 and 56. Still based at Gosforth but decided to do the WOs around Cockermouth. A lovely day for the outliers but cloud low over the high fells with showers. Followed W's route up Watch Hill and Setmurthy Common but down the forest track for a pick up. Then on to Clints Crag and straight up and back. Finally drove to Roman Fort and very steep climb over Caermote Hill and on to the North Top. Fort remains disappointing but superb views over the fells north of Skiddaw.BURGESS30/07/2017
With Jenx and Bryher from Blindcrake, up the track cum RoW and threaded through cattle to summit, onto the Tump top after for less glorious fun on the slags...nordicstar25/07/2017
Pretty wet on the track, then cows to negotiate with the pup.jenx25/07/2017
Walked from Blind Crake using The Wainwright Outlying Fells book on my own. Sunny and clear. The limestone escarpment was lovely but my enjoyment of this fell was hampered by herds of angry cows. This is very close to Caermote Hill where I was chased by another herd last year. They only stared and brayed noisily this time but it was still worrying.flockwatcher02/07/2017

Parked on hardstanding verge next to farm gate about 300m N.E. of Blindcrake at 153354 - Back down road to start of RoW - Up RoW to small limestone outcrop & unmarked summit. (PM)gerrybowes06/10/2016
Parked 300 metres up the road beyond the footpath at 152351. A 35 minute walk on a track and then through the fields with GB.bolton06/10/2016
Walked over summit but couldn't see cairn so went over to summit with trees and limestone pavement (not one for the dark) and hunted around. Walked back to summit and found the cairn. Must be something wrong with me as cattle all ran away - including the bull.Wycombe Wanderer31/08/2016
Bagged for the second time on way back from the more impressive nearby TuMP summit. There is now a very small cairn at the top. Excellent views, especially to SE.Hillsidenick23/04/2016
Parked on grass verge to north of Blindcrake at NY 15350 35410. Walked SW along road for c300m to public footpath. Wainwright summit now sports tiny cairn. Carried on along PROW to gate then turned left and followed fence up to limestone pavement. Crossed this to highest point which is an obvious grassy edge with short drop.David Gradwell16/01/2016
