From Wasdale Head, Lingmell Beck to Sty Head via the Bursting Knott, climbers traverse Scrambling along threaded through Napes Needle, the flake under arrowhead ridge and Sphinx rock. Scramble down little hells gate to climbers traverse, hit Gavel Neese and scrambled over White Napes & on to Great Gable. Amazing clear 360 views all around the Lakes. Down to Windy Gap, up to Green Gable. Quick there and back to Base Brown to almost the top of GG, to Brandeth and Grey Knotts then back towards Beck Head and last slog up Kirk Fell. We were Rewarded with the alt view of GG and amazing vistas over the Scafell Massif. Heading NW off the back of KF, through gully of Kirkfell crags, Black Sail Pass into Wasdale Head.ByronHaywood22/06/2023

11.1 mile walk from Honister Pass. Followed good path towards Green Gable with a brief diversion onto Brandreth's Summit then followed path onto Green Gable, then followed horrible scree-covered path down to Windy Gap col. From here ascending Great Gable over rocks and boulders to summit. Had the top to ourselves, it was only about 9.30am though. From Great Gable we descended path back to Windy Gap and followed Moses's Trod towards Haystacks following trail near Seavey Knott to summit. From summit we followed main path by Little Round How and then followed hard-to-find trail onto Fleetwith Pike, descending back to Honister and car. 1186m ascent. Clear with high cloud cover, amazing views. Saw quite a lot of people on Haystacks, not many others elsewhere!DanTrig15/06/2021

From Brandreth in thick fog. I had to use a map and compass to find my way to the summit as I don't have GPS on my ancient phone. Stopped for a snack and water and lost my handkerchief in the process. Fell runner appeared as if by magic in the fog and disappeared... very surreal. Found a lost hiker at the bottom of Windy Gap and pointed him in the best direction.NorthernWayfarer25/07/2017
From Honister with Lou. Straight up from the YHA carpark up to Grey Knotts and onto Brandreth where we explored the various summits and excellent views. Continued up to Green Gable for lunch where we observed Great Gable and decided to go for it. Glad we did as the views we stunning. The Typhoon flypast at from Windy Gap was superb timing by the RAF. We returned via Windy Gap and Green Gable, then headed towards Brandreth but dropped down to pick up the Moses Trod path contouring around to the Tramway. A hot, still sunny day. For me this has got to be one of the best view points in the Lakes and our last one this holiday. The walk down Aaron slack is tough going on lots of loose rock and scree, They've made an effort with the path but it's still quite rubbish and a huge relief to get on anything near level ground after that lot .ng5guy27/03/2017

Done with Owen Bryant. Arrived in late afternoon. It was windy and had started to rain. Cloud closed in as we descended to Windy Gap. Owen was till hoping to do Great Gable but I knew it would add two hours minimum to our trip and get us back in the dark. I was going to let him make the decision. Fortunately he talked himself out of it and we descended to Moses Trod.Aimless Rambler14/08/2013
