The way was straightforward over Starling Dodd to Red Pike, looking down now over Buttermere. With more time I could have done the out and back route to High Stile and High Crag but left that for another day and headed down an easy path to High Gillerthwaite and the couple of miles along an easy wooded track, meeting only a group of cyclists bound for the youth hostel.peter4lc15/10/2010
