From Brandreth in the clouds it was just a case of following the fence line down to Grey Knotts. After 5 or 10 minutes we were under the clouds and got our views back. However the wind was as strong as I’ve ever known it. We made our way to the 2 summits points the easterly being the higher. Again another great summit but could stay on it too long because of the wind. From there we headed straight down the fence steeply back to Honister followed closely by and old man. Great start to what was going to be a fantastic week. We popped into Keswick from there sadly seeing what looked like a dead person lying on the road. We went to a few pubs and had tea in Wetherspoons surf and turf and daydreamed about owning the shop across the road. Headed off to Crummock water to find a place to sleep.Scotty 2 Hotty17/06/2019

Direct ascent to Grey Knotts & Brandreth from Honister Pass on our last morning in the Lakes - the main car park is free for NT members; for non-NT members you're better to park at the slate mine, where parking is far cheaper. The way up was a steep slog & horrendously slippery in the wet; take care! The low murk momentarily lifted just enough at the summit for us to see Buttermere below.wheresthepath25/09/2017

Solo fr Honister, running where possible. Brandreth, Moses Trod to Beck Head, Kirk Fell East Top, Great Gable. Thick mist, rain and gathering gloom by then, went wrong way, eventually back over Green Gable in the darkening dusk. And retraced steps over Brandreth & Grey Knotts, steeply down to car at Honister, with relief! (Had by-passed Grey Knotts earlier but now stuck to wall.)NorfolkPT2122/11/2014
