Round of Wainrights with eldest son (16) from YHA Honister Hause - Grey Knotts, Brandreth, Green Gable, Great Gable, Fleetwith Pike (and also the Nuttall Honister Crag). Unexpectedly sunny all day, forecast afternoon thunderstorm only arrived in the evening. Would not recommend descending the western scree slope of Great Gable.clyoung12/08/2019
From Brandreth in the clouds it was just a case of following the fence line down to Grey Knotts. After 5 or 10 minutes we were under the clouds and got our views back. However the wind was as strong as Iíve ever known it. We made our way to the 2 summits points the easterly being the higher. Again another great summit but could stay on it too long because of the wind. From there we headed straight down the fence steeply back to Honister followed closely by and old man. Great start to what was going to be a fantastic week. We popped into Keswick from there sadly seeing what looked like a dead person lying on the road. We went to a few pubs and had tea in Wetherspoons surf and turf and daydreamed about owning the shop across the road. Headed off to Crummock water to find a place to sleep.Scotty 2 Hotty17/06/2019
From Honister youth hostel. Grey Knotts, Brandreth, Base Brown, Green Gable, Great Gable and Kirsk Fell (East and main summit). With 22 from Hiking Manchester. Lovely day out. After a drizzly and damp start, the skies cleared and we had beautiful views.Lazylizzie15/06/2019
